Fun experiment to do in your car: Begin by accelerating to a speed of 30mph. Now have someone throw a ball straight into the air. The ball will go up and subsequently come back down, right? Speed up to 45mph and repeat the process. Same thing right? Since the ball was inside the car, it will accelerate with the car. This can be repeated and replicated at any speed. So, if the Earth were round then the speed of the Earth means that everything in contact with the Earth moves at the same speed. Just as you move with your vehicle. As far as jumping in a flatbed, ever been in windy weather? If you throw a ball up, the wind will push it in the direction the wind is moving. Imagine you are in a car, you stick your hand out of the window and what happens? It gets pushed back due to the wind pushing it. If you are traveling down the highway in a flatbed and you jump up, you've essentially "stuck your hand out the window thus pushing you away from the car. This is "Wind Resistance".

Another experiment you can do: Ever get on your park's Merri-go-round? Standing at the center of the ride will allow you to stand there with ease as you watch everyone else as they stand further out fly towards the edge and sometimes fly off! This is centrifugal force, a very observable phenomenon. For a object to have it's own gravitational force that is one to be observed it must contain GREAT mass. Whether an object of mass has it's own gravitational effect on another object is not relative to the ratio of mass(balloon:paper). That's why you don't get sucked into large buildings of much greater mass than yourself.
3) GET HIGH!
For our final experiment: Take a piece of chalk and on the pavement draw a very short, straight line. Now draw another one with a slight angle to the left or right. Continue to do this over and over until you get back to where you started. If done properly, you will have a rough circle. This is essentially how we can create circles from nails and string art projects. The string, wound tightly from each nail(hammered into a circle) to the next will make a circle. This is how we gain our perception of a "flat ground". At the massive scale of Earth, it is comprised of many many little "strings" making it circular.


BONUS: For any of you wealthy individuals, I invite you to fly in any direction and continue flying in that direction(North, East, South, West, etc.) At some point you will return to the place at which you started. This cannot be done with piece of paper unless you "go over the edge" or roll it up. Since you can fly in any direction to get this result, you may test this with a ball, the object in which you are traveling upon must be spherical.

Why would you think people who have fallen off the mountains at the edge of the world would come back to life and tell us about it? Do you think someone has fastened rope ladders to the other side? I believe that one of the questions you asked was ". . . also how does one side of the flat earth gets lighted up and at 9 pm in us but 9 am in Japan I am confused". As the sun move across the sky on the flat earth, mountains will block the sun in some parts of the world depending on what time it is. That's pretty simple and obvious even to the casually educated person, and everyone has heard of shadows - it works the same way.

As to not falling off, well even most scientists will tell you it's due to gravity. You don't need a sphere for "gravity" to work - just mass, and even a flat earth has mass.

Your continuing display of uncommon stupidity makes me suspect that Jesus has struck you for some egregious sin in your past. You might try starting a thread in the prayer request section of this forum and come clean with Jesus.

As far as I know this is a non-issue since the people I met who believe the Earth is flat do not believe mountains prevent you from falling of the Earth. Mostly they believe it is ice.

He is sitting on the circle of the Earth and looking at the Earth that is square.

That is very interesting. Here you might find some common ground with at least some scientists. This was pointed out to me many years ago on a somewhat formal party, called a convention, organized by astronomers. To this day I have no idea why I was invited, most of it went over my head, so to say. There was some discussion about forces, one of them being a centrifugal force. Without going to much in to details, this force seems to have been described in a law, which ultimately results in the impossibility of the Earth being perfectly round. Perhaps all semantics but worth thinking about.

Amen, Brother. I believe that it is a mistake to refer to the Earth as flat. Obviously, this labeling derives from the endless argument from the unsaved that the Earth is round. We say, "No, it is flat" and yet it is not flat. Any fool can see mountains, valleys, hills, holes, stop signs and the like. This leads to more argument, when in fact, we are not really trying to sat that the Earth is actually flat. We are simply pointing out that it is not round. Perhaps we could devise better verbiage.
