My father served in the Scots Guard. My Grandfather fought in World War 2, alongside American troops, in the Scots Guard, and lost an arm fighting the Nazis in Operation Market Garden. They were counter-attacking a German Panzer Division that had 3 companies of the 501st Airborne pinned down outside Eindhoven. Without the actions of 100 Scots Guard, including my grandfather, 400 US paratroopers would have been cut off and slaughtered or captured.

US losses in World War 2 - 418,500

Russian losses - 23,954,000

I know precisely who I'll be thanking, and who gave more in the defence of the freedom of the world from Nazi tyranny. It ain't the Americans.

I served in the last war in Iraq, whooped the sand nigras but good. And I remember the Scots guard, they stayed in the rear with the other females cooking and cleaning. I will say this they could scrub out a toilet.

Y'know what, Cookie, given that you're the only person on this site to show an ounce of something resembling kindness, I'm gonna apologise for that threat, if that's what you saw it as, back there.

But make no mistake, this ain't a religious war any more. It might have started as us coming in here to get rid of Al'Qaida, but the Taliban ain't fighting us because we're Christian and they're Muslim - the ones we've captured, from what I've heard from my CO, don't give a damn who we are any more. They just want us to leave their country alone. It was the same in Iraq, which Dewitt would know if he really spent any time there.

Dewitt - if I remember aright, in the last Iraq war, most of your lot were doing the exact same thing - kit maintenance, fitness drills, endless tedium while strike bombers did all the actual wet work.

You seem to have forgotten that those UK losses included Canadians, didn't you. My uncle was a rear-gunner on loan to the RAF. He was NOT a brit.

In fact I'd risk to say that over 50% of those loses were Canadian since the brits had a habit of sending the Canadians in first as bait.

As for the Russian loses, does that include the ones that Stalin had shot? Or the ones that starved to death? Stalins idea of warfare was kind of opposite of what Brother Dewitt is explaining. Stalins idea was throw waves at men at the enemy until they run out of bullets. But hey, if you think that's a good strategy, by all means, go for it.

Unfortunatly, these do not conform with the foolish 'logic' of atheistic 'scientists'. Such a thing would be required in order to prove to them that they are wrong in such a way they can understand it.

First, the 'jump' test. This would not convice those not already convinced because of the belief that inertia and gravity would keep you with Earth.

Second, the 'blow' test. This would not convince those not already convinced because the earth's gravitational pull is considered to be sufficient to overpower the gravitational pull of everything on it to the extent that, in terms of gravity, we add to the mass (and thus gravity) of earth.

Third, the 'get high' test. This also doesn't work because, as you are getting higher, the angle at which you could pick something up would increase. Thus, you would have to be incredibly high for it to take effect; the required height would probably be too much to afford for most of us, or would be otherwise obscured or limited (cloud cover or the sea would make it difficult).

I am just attempting to point out why this argument would only get a positive from believers; it would not be considered proof to unbelievers, which would be an obvious purpose for proof.
