HOW does light bend like that. Light can be refracted at sharp angles or bent in a powerful gravity field, but its not gonna just bend just to suit the "fact" that the earth is flat.

Please take just a bit of time away from responding and take a look at the earth, the specifically at areas you know (maybe where you live?) you'll notice they are REAL photographs of REAL places.
Recently I used it to look at my cousins house in Australia, it's really a wonderful tool.

The death penalty (for mass murderers and the like) is not comparable to saying you would (if you could) kill someone if you think they are a nonbeliever.


I would ask you to reread the New Testament and particularily in respect to the New Covenant.

"Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day [that] I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: But this [shall be] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more."—Jeremiah 31:31-34


The old 'Eye for an eye', 'Kill homosexuals' teachings were done away with during this period.

Nice trick, but you can't get away with it. Show us anywhere in that chapter of Jeremiah where God said he is abolishing all previous laws? Show us where God says to Jeremiah "the old 'Eye for an eye'' were done away with." Show us where God says to Jeremiah "'Kill homosexuals' teachings are done away with." It never happen. You are putting your own spin on the verses.

God is saying that the old covenant didn't work out very well because his people didn't hold up to their part, so he is going to make a new covenant. It does not say the new covenant is going to do away with the old laws.

Let us look at a modern day example. Covenant and contract are essentially the same thing. Let us say you have a private mortgage contract with a private lender which contains certain terms and interest rate. Now let us say you are not living up to your responsibility (not an unlikely situation given your past and present behavior on this forum) and you are not submitting your monthly payment and have not done so for almost three years. Now this private lender is the patient type and understands you are too lazy to get a job but he is a good Christian and tries to work with you. In many states if the lender does not sue for his money for three years after the final payment the mortgage note (the contract, the covenant) is due then it will be null and void. In order to extend his rights, this goodly Christian lender may make a new contract/covenant with you even though a heathen like you does not deserve it. This new contract contains the same exact covenants and agreements as the old. It is simply a new chance for you to obey the old rules. This is the new covenant that we see in Jeremiah.

I realize this high finance stuff may be a bit over your head but perhaps you might be able to glean a tiny bit of what I am saying.

This is why Jesus taught peace during his lifetime:

You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.' But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. (Matt. 5:38-39)

As to Matthew 26:24 and Matthew 5:9 look at

Matthew 10:34-36 -- Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Matthew 5:38-39 is really a slick trick of yours. Either you are pretending not to know what it really means or you are that ignorant of the customs and times of Jesus' stay on earth. Jesus is suggesting passive-aggressive techniques. Remember he is addressing a Jewish male group. A Jewish male up to that time was never under any circumstances supposed to be subservient, not even to another Jewish male. The proper way to address a subservient person is to use the right hand [use of the left hand was strictly forbidden in all situations] and backhand him on the right cheek. Now if one turns the right cheek and presents the left cheek, it is impossible to backhand the left cheek. You are forcing the dominant one to use the direct forward punch/strike. You are forcing him to treat you as an equal.

Your Satanic deviousness aside, Jesus is not saying be a milquetoast. He is saying "be the aggressive one but subtly."

As to Luke 6:27-28 Jesus wasn't even nice to his own mother all the time. Consider"

Precisely, all of what the Lord says is law, therefore, when he says he will make a new covenant, that is the new promise, the new laws which we MUST now follow.
Change not one jot or title and do not think you can do away with his new teachings in order to follow the more violent ways which were necessary in the past.

There is no mention about any new covenant. You are taking Jeremiah out of context and misapplying it, and then substituting it in this example. Nowhere does Jesus mention a new covenant. He is simply saying in certain circumstances (and by no means all circumstances) a couple of old laws will have a slightly different action, an action that already has counterparts in the Old Testament where his Father already bent the rules in certain circumstances. The old rules for the most part still apply to the new covenant.
