Hi Janine, well, since i recieved a threat message from an a pastor (who shall remain nameless here). I'll be as civil as possible. Yes, the pickup truck test will not work, because the speed of the pickup truck is added to the speed of the rotating earth. While the air aound the pickup truck remains the same speed the earth is rotating at. Say if the earth is going at 1000 miles an hour, the pickup at 60 mph. 1000+60=1060 miles a hour. the wind around the pickup however, is at 1000mph, not 1060 as the suface area of the earth is significantly greator than that of the pickup. So, therefore, the friction between the earth and the air is greator thean the friction between pickup and air, so therefore the air will be moving at the speed of the earth. and 1060-1000=60. therefore there will be a wind difference of 60 mph between the pickup and the surrounding wind. Therefore the 60 mph wind will push you off of the pickup truck.

lol, you guys have no idea how hard i laughed while reading this.
Ok, first of all, the first experiment where you jump up and are suppose to land hundreds of feet away. it'll never work. anyone here ever heard of relativity? or friction? or gravity? or air for that matter? the reason it'll never work is:
i. the earth is spinning at 700-1000 miles an hour, and you're spinning with it. while standing on the surface of the earth. you inherit it's momentum, so you are effectively traveling at 700-1000 miles a hour. when you jump up wards, you can only jump about 1-2 feet off the ground, and stay in midair for about half a second, while traveling at 700-1000 mile a hour. this short amount of time spent in midair is not enough to make a noticable difference in the distance the earth spun. to your perception at least. but, if it makes you feel any better, you can never jump straight up and land at exactly the same place, as the earth will have moved a tiny fraction. or, you can jump out of an airplane at several thousand feet without a parachute to test the reverend's theory.

You do realize that the earth has moved one quarter of a mile away in that half second, don't you? Can you even run a quarter of a mile in a half second? I didn't think so. Are you a minimalist? Now, scientists claim that Earth is spherical and rotating at a speed of between 700-1000 miles per hour, depending on your latitude. This is a very high rate of speed. You can disprove this nonsense by simply jumping up as high as you can. Really, it's that simple. What happens when you jump? You come straight down to where you were. But, if the Earth were indeed spinning at such a fast speed, wouldn't you land hundreds of feet away?

If you were to stand in the flat bed of a truck going 75 mph, and jump straight up, what would happen? You wouldn't fall straight down. You would fall out of the truck. That's because trucks move, the Earth doesn't. This experiment proves the Earth is fixed in space and doesn't move.

If you were in a flat bed truck (ute in Australia) traveling at 75 mph and jumped straight up your inertia would ensure that you continued to travel in the direction of the truck at the same time as traveling upwards. Air friction and the vagaries of your own lack of perfect coordination would likely mean that you would lose some "forwards" momentum and land a little further to the back of the tray. Don't do this at home kids it only proves you can kill yourself by jumping up in a ute tray at 75 mph not that the earth is flat. We don't care what the bile says, whoever he may be. But we do care about what God and Jesus says in His 1611 King James Bible. And He says the earth is a flat circle.

If God wanted to convey the idea that the earth is a sphere he could have done so without any effort. He speaks perfect English. He also spoke perfect Hebrew once upon a time.

where the word translated as circle is חוג (chug). It means flat as in a coin. The Hebrew word for globe, or orb or ball is דור (dur).

With:

Isaiah 22:18 -- He will surely violently turn and toss thee like a ball into a large country: there shalt thou die, and there the chariots of thy glory shall be the shame of thy lord's house.

Ball here is of course dur.

EXACTLY! The air/wind resistance would knock you off.

But, we know that the Earth is not traveling through space at a high rate of speed because of the lack of air and wind resistance. When you travel in a truck, you can feel the wind whipping by you, and if you jump high enough, you'll be thrown outside the truck. However, this does not happen with the Earth. We are not susceptible to 1000 mph winds.....therefore the EARTH DOES NOT MOVE.

The Earth does not move, and therefore cannot be spherical. It has to be flat, like the Bible says.

The satellites are moving at great speed, why do they move below the horizon on one side , lets say the west, and then reappear on the other side, lets say the east?

If the world was flat this would not happen. They would go beyond the edge of the earth and never come back again.
