No, you pervert. It is not meant for stalking at all, but for furthering the Message of God(tm). It is a short little story meant to scare the beSatan out of you and into accepting Jesus' offer of Salvation(r). You can order your choice of thousands of these little gospel-tracts here. I suggest ordering 5 or 10 of each, so that you can have one for yourself and several on your fridge. And they make fantastic gifts, tucked into cards when sinful little twerps are expecting cash. Your soul may be past saving, but others' aren't

Do you have a Chick Tract to support any of this?Originally posted by targetremains View PostIn Jonah 2:1 (1:17 in English translation), the Hebrew text reads dag gadol (דג גדול), which literally means "great fish." The LXX translates this phrase into Greek as ketos megas (κητος μεγας). The term ketos alone means "huge fish," and in Greek mythology the term was closely associated with sea monsters. (See http://www.theoi.com/Ther/Ketea.html for more information regarding Greek mythology and the Ketos.) Jerome later translated this phrase as piscis granda in his Latin Vulgate. However, he translated ketos as cetus in Matthew 12:40.
At some point, cetus became synonymous with whale (e.g. cetyl alcohol, which is alcohol derived from whales). In his 1534 translation, William Tyndale translated the phrase in Jonah 2:1 as "greate fyshe," and he translated the word ketos (Greek) or cetus (Latin) in Matthew 12:40 as "whale." Tyndale's translation was, of course, later incorporated into the Authorized Version of 1611. Since, the "great fish" in Jonah 2 has been most often interpreted as a whale.
The hebrew bible is correct and the new testament is wrong. HAHA. Science is correcting your bible! Virgin mary wasnt a virgin.... another mistranslation lol. Young woman not virgin.

Whalers are mostly drunken queers, so they have a clear vested interest in discrediting God. Nice try, but no cigar, my heroin-sniffing friend.Originally posted by Alaric Reinner View PostHumm..... intriguing character he might be a zombie (Shoot him in the head)
as to the whole whale thing, what if a whaler told you whales had no scales?
i mean god may have made them but he is in close contact with them all the time.
Yes, but the great fish was named as far back as Biblical times. Shout glory!Originally posted by targetremains View PostBzzt wrong, thanks for playing.

Re: Whales dont have scales
The Bible doesn't lie....at least not that we know of. GOD lies and sends false prophets, but He can if He wants to. So we believe the literal word of the Bible until Jesus comes back.....and it won't be long now, to tell us what parts of Scripture, if any, are GOD's humor, or simply lies. Even if they ALL are, it does not relieve us of the duty to believe every Holy and Divine word of it. That is God's method of testing our faith. Many are called, but few are chosen. The few who keep the Faith.Originally posted by targetremains View PostQuote:

The whale shark also isnt a whale. Did Yonah know it was a "great fish" or "sea monster". Why did they lie in the bible and call it a whale?

2. I will utterly consume all things from off the land, saith the LORD.
3. I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumbling blocks with the wicked: and I will cut off man from off the land, saith the LORD.
4. I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests;
5. And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the LORD, and that swear by Malcham;
6. And them that are turned back from the LORD; and those that have not sought the LORD, nor enquired for him.
Zephaniah 1
