(Joshua 1:8)Because of course you know better than God what to write.
Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do, only enough for your immediate needs that one single day. (Deuteronomy 29:9)
And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself so long as it is enough to keep you from starving for that day or everything you have will turn to worms. (1 Kings 2:3)
Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and if you only keep enough prosperity to last until the sun falls, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed, but don't either be a greedy joo about it. (1 Chronicles 22:13)

Originally posted by FollowerofJesu s View PostI'm not saying the Lord won't bless us with what we need, but he warns multiple times not to be rich. Just as he didn't want the Israelites to store up manna he doesn't want us to accumulate wealth. He rewarded them with manna and made them prosperous because they were faithful.

These days God Blesses us with bounty as a reward for our faith. I actually own nothing, but the church provides me with a beautiful estate and a staff of servants to take good care of me.

Luke 6:20-21: "Then he looked up at his disciples and said: 'Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God."
Mark 10:21-22: "Jesus, looking at him, loved him and said, "You lack one thing; go, sell what you own, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me." When he heard this, he was shocked and went away grieving, for he had many possessions"

Re: Homeschool Science Lessons: Proving atheists wrong with science
Originally posted by FollowerofJesu s View PostNot at all. There's a difference between being rich and being prosperous. Being prosperous is having enough for what you need. Being rich is having more than that. At least that's the best way I could describe it.
