  • Re: Homeschool Science Lessons: Proving atheists wrong with science

How fitting that my email knew immediately to put my registration email in the junk folder!

At times, while reading some of the replies on here, I genuinley struggle to imagine how a person can be so closed minded. Sometimes I get convinced that you're just being sarcastic, but no, you manage to back it up with a big hit of Hallelujah! Perhaps I am lucky that I was raised by sensible parents who weren't the brainwashing type.

Let me address a few things:
The Bible was written over a significant period of time... by many different people. It upsets me to think that you would persecute Judaism (from which Christianity derived) and yet put so much (blind) faith in their scripture (that would be the first 5 books of the Bible; the Pentateuch). The reason some things aren't mentioned by name in the Bible, is because... drumroll... they weren't invented/discovered!

Also, I really like the book 'To Kill a Mockingbird' and though the water cycle isn't mentioned in it, I still know it exists.

Moving on, some of your smilies that you proudly display alongside your names are downright offensive. I read enough of the thread to see you criticise someone for not being your 'neighbour', yet almost all of you feature a shaking fist with the message "tell her once". You're piffleing kidding me right? Even in America, violence against women is generally frowned upon! Surely you would consider your wife to be your neighbour!

On another note, the guy who's using the phrase 'putting the stud back into bible study'... I wish I could say that was the funniest thing I'd read on here!

Perhaps you could all just extend your 'enlightedness' just a little bit further. Go and actually learn something about the world around you! God won't mind!

P.S. Yeah... we sweat and pee... and eventually water evaporates from these and makes its way back to our drinking cups.

I look forward to whatever you try to throw at me.
Psalm 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done
abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Our minds are open to the Christ.

Hallelujah! It's it just amazing how God can inspire so many different people who don't know each other to write about the same exact faith?

We don't persecute anyone, friend. God will send them to Hell where they belong.
For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they [have] of the Jews: Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men (1Th 2:14-15)

That's nice. Why did you share this again?

America is God's Country and here in God's Country we women know how to please God (unlike the joos). We know how to get His Blessings.
Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. (1st Timothy 2:11)

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
      (Ephesians 5:22)

Submitting ourselves to our husbands is the same as submitting ourselves unto the LORD. You're suggesting we don't obey God? Why would you come to a forum that exists to praise God's Holy Name on the internet 24 hours a day and suggest we stop doing that by stop submitting ourselves? That's so mean.

He's truly a man of God who would take time from his busy day just to help a woman.

      God Bless

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! Yes it is, just like how I can watch the news on one channel, and then open a newspaper written by other journalists who don't know each other to see the same news reported. Incredible!
It's a bit like how I'm able to read something from a historical document, and then teach it to my students in class.

This bit makes me feel truly sorry for you. I hope you're eventually able to realise how oppressed and violated you are. People in abusive relationships often feel like there's nothing wrong with the way they're being treated and that every relationship is like there's, but it's simply not true.

I'm sorry, I've read the Bible, some time ago I must admit so it's possible I may have missed a bit or my memory doesn't serve me as well as it should, perhaps I should pray for that, but even so I can't recall anywhere in the Good Book where it say's anything about America being "God's Country", or for that matter anything about "America" at all.

I do recall Deuteronomy 7:6-8 where God tells the Israelites that He
"hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth." which, I always thought, meant that they were His chosen people. This would of course mean the Jews. Granted they may have lost that role when they so cleverly followed the prophecy and put Jesus to death, but even so that still leaves me with completely confused over the "America is God's country" question.

            Can anyone help?

I don't think I'd consider being the richest nation blessed.

You don't have to consider it. God does:
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. (Joshua 1:8)

Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do. (Deuteronomy 29:9)

And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself (1 Kings 2:3)

Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed. (1 Chronicles 22:13)

God makes followers of the covenant prosperous, but the rich have no place in heaven. It's important we distinguish the two.

Are you saying God blesses the faithful by making them prosperous but then pulls the rug out from under them and shuns them to Hell?

Not at all. There's a difference between being rich and being prosperous. Being prosperous is having enough for what you need. Being rich is having more than that. At least that's the best way I could describe it.

I take the thought from exodus 16 where God provided the Israelites with manna. They were allowed to take just enough for their families. When they tried to store it up, it turned to worms and rotted.

That's because they were commanded to take just so much. Plus they were greedy joos and God knew they had to be reigned in or they'd take all the manna around and have a monopoly on it.

These days God Blesses us with bounty as a reward for our faith. I actually own nothing, but the church provides me with a beautiful estate and a staff of servants to take good care of me.

                                2 Samuel 22:21
The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

                                2 Chronicles 15:7
Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.

                                Psalm 31:23
O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.
                                Who Will Jesus Damn?
