why give us that capability if its not to be used? i think im actually already aware of the Christian answer to that, and that is freewill. A very complex area, we could probably talk forever about freewill and even its existence. As we are learning more about how the human brain works and its interaction with both our senses and memory.

It is used as a thought experiment! It cant be proven either way, does a tree make a noise if no one is around to hear it.

Of course it does. As we know, sound is made of 'sound waves'. They are created by the breaking of the fibers in the tree as it fails. They will be created whether there is someone there to hear them or not. What a silly example! Something dating from primitives who didn't know about sound waves, obviously.

I do not mock God at any stage in this debate. Why oh why would God give us a conscience mind in which to ponder such things if it wasnt meant to be used in such a fashion?

He commanded us to have faith in Him. He specifically said that all non-believers will be burned alive in His Lake of Fire for all time, for the sin of not believing.

Do you know how much these efforts would cost?

(approx)$120,000,000 for the Mars Rover Missions, but to me as well as your side of it, there's also another side which is that these missions are an incredible frontier for mankind, and the scientific benefits , which one would assume do not interest you personally, but it means a lot to a lot of people. Now im not going to say which is right or wrong. But why does this effect God in anyway, going to Mars doesn't mean there's no God? and to be-honest with passages like this in the bible why not, its literally telling us 'WHEN you SEEST!

Unknown at this particular juncture, but we are in search of other planets that may be able to sustain life! which could lead to our salvation should an interstellar catastrophe occur.

Does Mars contain Good News for us?

That question depends on your own perspective as to if you think what it can offer is 'good' news or not. Im going to hazard a guess that your skeptical and thats ok with me

I cannot but see the beauty in such words as these, im 90% in agreement with it! I often wish i could think as Christians do and i truly see the power your faith can offer and its peace. But what am i to do with the part of me that doubts God? Why choose yours over anyone elses? They offer as much 'truth' as yours or so the followers who lead me to believe, just as you say they are wrong and why, i have them saying the same about you. ahhhhhhhhh :/

In this case, your problem is: you see something and the something part is the part that is interesting to you. For instance, you see a big platter of fried chicken...what do you notice? The chicken? The platter? The batter? The tongs used to flip the chicken around in the hot oil?

The part you SHOULD appreciate is whoever is directing the entire operation. Check this out:

Questioning God is denying that He is omniscient (Psalm 139:2-6; Isaiah 40:13-14), wise (Proverbs 3:19; Romans 16:26-27; 1 Timothy 1:17), just (Deuteronomy 32:4; Psalm 11:7; Psalm 119:137) and truth (Psalm 31:5; John 14:6; John 17:3; Titus 1:1-2).


Our role in life is to love God, to worship God and to obey God. Not to mock God by questioning His infinite wisdom.

There is nothing complicated or deep about your god-mockery...I see it a hundred times (or more) a day. You plod along, relying on others to "see" things for you, but you never bother to open your eyes.

Your remedial-level philosophy might score you points amongst the unwashed, but until you are rinsed clean with the Blood of the Lamb you are at most a philosophical curiosity, like a naked mole rat minus the charm.

Do yourself a favor: find a Bible, preferably a KJV, and read it. Come back here when you're done, it will only take a couple of months (at a leisurely pace).
