Errr, no. If something HAS been falsified, then it IS false.

Falsifiability means that something CAN be falsified (a clearer word is "testability"). To be accepted as true, a statement MUST possibly be false; the absence of any evidence of its falseness can then be taken as evidence of its verity (trueness).

On the other hand, if a statement CANNOT be shown to be false (by any imaginable evidence), then all we would know is that it cannot be false; its verity is not (and cannot be) proven.

I don't think you understand what "falsifiable" means. Just because it has not been falsified does not mean it is unfalsifiable. Of course, as a presumed creationist, your failure to understand simple science is not a surprise. The principle of falsifiability is that IF a scientific theory is false there must be a means or evidence that shows it to be false. If there is no way of showing it to be false, if it is false, then it is not actually a proper scientific theory. One of the ways this works is through predictions. If the theory is true then it must make certain predictions about what will be found or NOT found in further investigations. If the theory is false then the findings will be the opposite of what the theory predicts. As one evolutionary scientist has said, all it would take to disprove evolution would be to find a fossil rabbit in pre-Cambrian strata. That is because, according to evolutionary theory, rabbits, and for that matter, mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians had not evolved yet in that time period. So if fossils of ANY of those animals were to be found in pre-Cambrian strata, evolution would be disproved. And the same would be true if fossils of ANY species were to be found in any other strata that was laid down before before it was possible for that species to have evolved. The fact is that evolutionary theory would be falsified if any of the 5,000 present-day species of mammals, including human, or the 10,000 present-day species of birds were found in the fossil strata where they should not be found (for example, in the same strata with dinosaur fossils). No such finds have been made. And the same could be said for any other appearance of a later species in geological strata that was formed before that species could have evolved. So, sure, evolutionary theory is, in principle, falsifiable. But the FACT is that it has NEVER been proved false.

In contrast, the creationist flood "model" HAS been shown to be false.. That model states that all species that have ever lived were all created at essentially the same time and that the biblical flood wiped out every living thing that was not on the ark. That model states that the fossil record is the result of the flood. A necessary prediction of that model is that, since all of those creatures lived at the same time, their fossils should ALL be found together in the same flood-formed strata. One would find a mix of fossils of all those creatures together. One should find fossils of rabbits, humans, elephants, horses, dinosaurs, pterosaurs, eagles, etc., all in the same flood-formed strata. So, essentially, the same findings that would prove evolution false would prove the creation model true, and vice versa. The findings, in fact, prove evolutionary theory true and the creation model false. Because they are found in a large number of strata, and the strata were laid down with the lowest being the oldest and the uppermost being the latest, the fossils must also be dated accordingly and the sequence of fossils within the strata also therefore follow the sequence oldest to youngest.

Furthermore, the sequences of strata were developed by CREATIONIST geologists long before Darwin came up with his theory, so they could not have been influenced by evolutionary theory. The oldest strata contain only very simple life forms, and as one progresses through the strata, from the older to the younger, more advanced life forms appear in a specific order that conforms to evolutionary theory. Creationists totally ignore the stratigraphical context of the fossils in their Bible-based flood "model." Since all species (or "kinds," whatever) currently existing and extinct were supposed have been living at the same time prior to the flood, and the flood resulted in the fossils that are found, there should be a mix of all of those species in a single stratum. However, as I pointed out above, the fossils are found are found in numerous strata, many of them non-alluvial, and in a sequence that supports evolutionary theory, NOT the creationist model. That is why, in their web sites and books, the promoters of creationism LIE. And ignorant, gullible lay creationists just lap up those lies and regurgitate them here on Y!A.

At this point, the evidence is piled so high it's really not much of a question anymore - it's a fact. Sure, there could conceivably be something that turns up and undermines evolutionary theory, but it's about as likely as if we discovered that the earth really is the center of the universe (We know it's not). Every flu season, one or more new version of the flu virus ravages the world. That is evolution in action, directly and easily observed. To disprove creationism, simply take any of their bizarre statements and observe it with a critical eye. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes to see why it is obviously wrong.

It cannot be practiced as a religion, and it offers no spiritual, moral or emotional guidance. Science is a method into figuring out the way the physical universe works. Religion is set of values and beliefs that people live by. Also, science works. Your computer doesn't work because of God's magic -it works because of science.

However the theory of evolution is based on a lot of actual material that is explicit and therefore can be disproved, and most of it has been disproved already. So it is only a matter of time before all remaining parts of the science around evolution have been disproved and we can put evolution where it belongs: between The Easter Bunny, Santa Clause and honest Obama voters.

This has to be one of the worst pro-creation arguments that I have ever heard. Evolution is widely accepted as fact, and has been seen throughout history in the similarities between modern day organisms and fossils. Try proving there's a god...which is impossible. There is ABSOLUTELY no proof that there is some divine being that used magic to create the universe. Religion is OUTDATED.

You are, as usual, missing the point. All the theories I mentioned were considered scientific fact at some point in history. Most have been proven wrong by now. The few that have not been proven wrong yet, will be proven wrong in at most 5 years. The madness doesn't stop there though as incompetent scientist will simply make up new nonsensical theories to suck up our tax money.

Global warming is very real. Woe be unto those deny it. Whereas religion had always been the bastion of truth eh? Evolution has not been disproved, nor will it. Each of those 'theories' worked to explain the effects that were being dealt with. In that sense, they were 'valuable'. We know today that Newton wasn't completely right, but we still use his theory and concepts for most purposes. Science is wrong VERY OFTEN. The difference is that scientists are not afraid to admit that they can be wrong, whereas the way of religion is usually set in very old stone. You cannot make progress without making mistakes. Even evolution (oh yes, it's real) sometimes churns out people like you on the way...
