It seems to me that Idiocy said that while many of the theories were wrong, such as the Luminiferous Aether, Phlogiston Theory and Phrenology. While other have yet to be disproven, such as evolution and global warming. The two have only been supported by the evidence available.

History has proven that over and over again and you are proving that it doesn't work as well by making one mistake after the other. I will give you some examples of scientific theories that turned out to be wrong:

Obviously you don't have a clue what "Theory" means. Science is truth. Truth is beauty. Science flies you to the moon, religion turns you into a brainless zealot. Science is better BECAUSE it throws out ideas that don't work. Religion is stuck with every dumbass thing it comes up with even though it obviously doesn't work. It's how you end up with talking snakes and dudes who get weak over a haircut. It's pretty goofy to sit in the middle of all our technology and act like science doesn't work. Religion doesn't do a damn thing for us. The thing about science is that when it gets it wrong IT ADMITS IT. Then science CHANGES, based on the new evidence.

Sorry. Not all of the theories you listed have turned out to be wrong. Evolution is at the core of all modern biology and can be treated as a fact. Global warming has been verified also although it is better to call it Global climate change as it effects rainfalls as well as average temperature increases. Religion provides more than just silly beliefs, so it does have some useful social functions, but it is certainly not a replacement for science. That is absurd. What you seem to be missing is that science is what provided the means to self-correct and prove some of those hypothesis wrong (and some of those you list should not be there: evolution is a demonstrated fact, as well the current climate change)

In my opinion, you need to get your head out of your behind and access some real oxygen; your brain is showing signs of degradation. Meanwhile, religion has been proved wrong again and again. In fact, it has never been once shown to have any validity. Let's see. The first nine of your examples are all old ones that were put forth during the 19th and early 20th centuries and were subsequently overturned by SCIENCE.

Einstein's static universe was based on the then current science, and, in fact, Einstein introduced his cosmological constant in order to explain the apparent static universe. When, in the 1930s, it was learned that the universe is actually expanding, Einstein said that the cosmological constant was his greatest blunder. However, as it has since turned out, his cosmological constant can actually be applied to the current understanding of the expansion. Furthermore, Einstein's theory of relativity has NEVER been disproved and has only been supported with every new finding. Global warming is beyond question and is supported by the evidence, head-in-sand naysayers notwithstanding. And evolution is a fact, the bald-faced lies put out by the promoters of creationism notwithstanding.

If we stopped "wasting time" on science back in the 12th century we'd have no electricity, no computers, life average life expectancy would be in the 30's due to high infant mortality rates, high deaths in childbirth of mothers, high levels of disease and infection, the Moon and Mars would be completely unexplored and subject to huge amounts of wild speculation, anyone born with a hearing or sight defect would be condemned to beg because they would be unable to read or hear. No eye glasses, no hearing aids, no functional artificial limbs.

I could go into many areas where religion has failed but that would be petty. More importantly you have to understand science never claims to be an absolute revelation of truth rather it is a methodology for chipping away at the mountains of ignorance to uncover more and more truths about the universe.

If you're think we should get rid of science, then kindly dispose of your computer and go live in the woods. Be sure to live about 60% as long as the rest of us as you forego all medical science.

What mistakes, My math for calculating the distance to Alpha Centauri was flawless. I said that 2+2=4 is always correct and you introduced a number system for computers and said that it wasn't correct, you have proven nothing.

Science makes mistakes because people make mistakes. That is why science is a flexible thing and why fact and theory are used differently. With these systems, science only changes for the better. The problem with this strict interpretation of the bible is that it is inflexible. It leaves its followers stuborn to the extreme and they will believe a 1500 year old book over overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Before i saw this site, i did not believe Flat Earthers existed anymore, that idea officially ended in the fourth century AD yet here you are still believing it.

Vulcan was never a theory
Neither was spontaneous generation
Expanding Earth people were laughed at even when the idea first came up.
Martin canals were never a theory, they were a guess
Luminous aether never got past a hypothesis
Phrenology is an idea and is the basis on the differential functionality of different areas of the brain
The static universe was not a theory but a proposition.
Fleischmann and Pons’s Cold Fusion experiment was never a theory and was criticized by many other scientists
Global warming and cooling are not theories but ideas
Evolution is a theory and is accepted by most if not all scientists and most of the general public. It has not so far been proven wrong

The Blank Slate Theory is accepted by many people and has not been proven wrong. It is in conflict with the theory that mental states are in people during birth. Conflict means that theories are always challenged so they can be improved.

Phlogiston Theory was a theory but was disproven by evidence. That is how theories work, they can be changed or scrapped altogether because of new evidence. But heliocentric model has not been disproven as of yet and has been supported by many pieces of evidence. The bible is not convincing enough as evidence as it was written in the 4th century before people had effective science.

You made many mistakes when you tried science and I pointed several of them out. You made a mistake with the grains of sand. I proved you wrong. You made a mistake with the 2+2=4. I proved you wrong. And you made many many many more mistakes but I have better things to do than pointing all of them out. To use your own weapon against you, scientifically speaking I have now proven that you are unreliable.

Scientists will only call their own machinations "facts" but never what is in the Bible. Is that fair? Is it fair to call what is in God's book myths? They mock the talking snake of Genesis and Balaam's donkey. Why must you always hold to the position that the Devil finds delightful?

A similar thing might be said about other holy books. Maybe we should look over the evidence stated in the Koran or the Vedas (Hindu sacred text), the Vedas are a far older book then the bible.

The trinary (most often called ternary) system was designed so that it would be easier to program computers. Think of it as anouther language of numbers. When you translate it, 2+2 still equals 4. Actually, in ternary, 2+2 is 11, not 10.

I hope you can appreciate the irony of saying that while at the same time your math is wrong over and over again. If not at least everyone else visiting this forum can have a laugh.

Trading galleys bringing stuff across the sea would not even notice the rising water and boats around India would mistake all that rain for rains generated by the seasonal downpours that regularly strike India and can last 40 days.

People in science tend to be extremely careful when it comes to calling things facts. In fact, nothing discovered in science has been called a fact (though the theory of the dirac sea comes pretty close). math is full of facts. 2+2=4, this is a fact, a thing that is true no matter what, for all time, 2+2 will equal 4. We tend to be more careful with theories, an example of this is Newtons theory of gravity. It was discovered that newtons equations would stop working when it comes to very dense objects, this is when it was "updated" by Einsteins theory of relativity. Relitivety makes the equations work under those conditions but newton's theories work everywhere else. They were used to correctly time when Hally's comet would pass earth the next time and all times after.

The heliocentric model of the solar system is not even a theory anymore, it is a fact. Supported by Galileo, further explained by Newton, and finally proven by Kepler. There is no one on Earth (besides a few thousand, some of which use this very site) who still refutes this.

a coherent group of tested general propositions, commonly regarded as correct, that can be used as principles of explanation and prediction for a class of phenomena: Einstein's theory of relativity. Synonyms: principle, law, doctrine.

I'm having a hard time finding anything about theories in The Bible, could you please provide scripture references? What version are you using, because we all use the KJV1611. This may be part of the issue...
