  • Science of Evolution...Yeah Right!

I just made a horrible discovery!!! Apparently, the Revolutionary Communist Party has colaberated with know treasonist Andrea Skybreak (like that last name is a coincidence) to create a book called "The Science of Evolution and the Myth of Creationism Knowing What's Real and Why it Matters". Only godless commies could come up with such a blasphemous story. If you don't believe me, you can find it here. WARNING: Saved, spirit-filled men should only click on this link! No women or children allowed! We know that regardless of secular, "scientific evidence", God created the world and everything in it in six days. Besides, if man is fallable, and God is infallable, who is more likely to be right? Let's see the secular scientists disprove that one!

Life could not possibly arise from a peanut butter jar because the bacteria in the peanut butter jar would engulf any "new" life that tried to arise.
I would like you to meet my imaginary friend, God.

So you're saying that evolution is impossible, as existing life forms (er, as created by God) would destroy any "new" life forms, even if the conditions were perfect for new life to arise.

Thanks for finally agreeing with us!

Then you ain't never had teenagers leav'in vittles out on a hot summer day. I seen new life on the kitchen table look'in like it was gonna spring up and eat the cat, had to shoot it just to make sure it wouldn't multiply!
(and boy howdy was my wife mad, hole in the table top, tater salad everywhere....but that's another story).

Hmm... Let me clear this up so I present myself in a way that I make sure that I don't agree with you. Evolution is the gradual diversity of organisms as a result of natural selection; I don't see how my statement suggests that evolution is impossibe. Second, I don't understand how I am agreeing with you by saying that existing life forms would destroy any "new" potential life. Exisiting life forms are a result of natural selection - yes even bacteria - whose ancestors originated on this planet, by random chance governed by the rules of probability. Not God.

Is there a form of random chance that is not governed by the rules of probability? For that matter, is there any chance that isn't random?

                  Simple. Like you.

You said it was IMPOSSIBLE for new life to arise from a jar of peanut butter, because the existing bacteria would "engulf" it.

Bacteria, if you believe "scientists", are everywhere. Therefore, by your own admission, any new life form would be "engulfed" by bacteria, and therefore it is impossible for new life forms to evolve.

Evolution is supposed to be a CONTINUOUS process, and ONGOING at the present moment. According to YOU, it happened ONCE, and all life forms must have been, say, CREATED simultaneously. Otherwise, the evil bacteria would have "engulfed" the new life forms.

I don't think you fully undertand what evolution is. Because of the intelligent design and evolution debate, people tend to forget what evolution really is. Evolution is the gradual increase to complex diversity governed by natural selection. For instance, I believe that about 3.7 billion years ago, the Earth had the right "ingredients" to support life. From there life has evolved to what we know today. So the origin of species happened ONCE, but evoluiton by natural selection is ONGOING and CONTINUOUS.
