    How do you people observe Lent?

    Merry met and blessed be! I'm sorry I've been away for so long, but things got hectic at the Ingram-Myers household when my wife defended her thesis on postmodern critiques of Lacan.

    Anyway, I was just wondering how you people observe Lent. To me, since we give up something we enjoy and give to charity instead, it's a centering time when we let go of materialist corporate culture and focus on our relationships with Mother/Father God and our fellow passengers on Spaceship Earth.
    The Bible, when correctly interpreted, tells us to love everyone.

    We observe it from a distance and with a righteous scowl, missy! I don't know what it's like for you lezbeans up there in Canada, but calling another woman your "wife" isn't going to make her so.
    As for the rest of your drug-addled ramblings, I'll leave that up to a Godly pastor who is trained to deal with such nonsense.

    1 Timothy 2:13-15 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

      This isn't the Catlicker Church Mr Anti-Man. We don't go for that made up Mary Worshiper stuff. God punished the Medieval Catlickers by making their food run out at the end of winter. So the Pope tried to hide it with Lent. Since Jesus loves us we Americans never run out of food.

      Time to reclaim our FREEDOM from the “Mullah in Chief” and his growing activist voter hoards of socialists, communists, anti-Semites, anti-Christians, atheists, radical gays and lesbians, feminists, illegal immigrants, Muslims, anti-Anglo whites and others.

        This is just another example of how Liebrals waste time, energy and money. The theories of Sigmund Freud, mired in 19th century reductionism, were discredited long ago. Leave it to a French homer like Jacques Lacan to resurrect them and now someone has to spend their time on a thesis of postmodern critiques of him.

        How about giving up this nonsense for Lent, since you are so inclined to sacrifice. The wifely duties are in the kitchen and taking the manly seed.
        Hell's foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
        brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.
        ...and get off my lawn

              I go and find a catlick church and spit in mary's face. I then go find the priest and tell him a miracle has occurred as the statue is crying. Then I wait for the crowds to arrive and start collecting donations that I bring directly to Landover. It's like taking candy from a baby.

                    I hope you beat that Derrida nonsense right out of her!
                    O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

                    God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

                            Really. If they cherry-picked their own religion any more than they do, they'd be Methodists.
                            This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. If you think that we've misquoted or twisted Scripture or quoted any verse out of context, please explain in detail how we've done so. Otherwise, if what you read on this site offends you, then you're offended by Almighty God and His Word, not by us.
