I consider myself pretty agnostic. Not because I don't believe in God, but I don't believe it in the typical "judgmental beat you over yhe head with what is obviously nonsense" christian way. Every time I try and get closer to God through religion, I see groups like this and I remeber exactly why religon is in general a very bad thing. A group of people studying scripture and discussing it is a good thing. A group of people using their incorrect or at least incomplete understanding of that scripture makes all Christians look like judgmental mormons. "Judge not, lest ye be judged, let he who hath not sinned cast the first stone" pricipals most christians and just about everyone on this site seem to ignore. Particularly your "pastor" who at best seems to have a rudimentary understanding of the bible and has the audacity to comment on other religions with almost no grasp of his own. That my friends, is stupid. I wish I could phrase it differently, but thats just down home dumb folks. Now I realize that I will likely get booted or banned. Such is life. I am not trying to offend or challange your way of life or out look on God. Truthfully I envy yhose with the peace of mind that comes with religion.

So maybe you deserve Hell since unadulterated and pure righteousness in practice offends you? You wouldn't be happy in heaven.

We follow God and the Bible perfectly. Find just one thing we are wrong about and we'll change our preaching.

Judgment is not left to you or anyone else on this planet short of the return of the Son. NO MAN may act in Gods place. To do so is to assume too much. To do so is to assume a role you have no place in.

You couldn't be more wrong (see John 12:48 and John 20:23). So long as we judge the way God judges and wants us to (John 7:24; I Cor. 6:3), we are A-okay.

To follow one is to worship false idols. This man thinks he's God. THIS MAN thinks its ok to judge and to tell you to judge. This man does not know God for the better christian. This man knows God for personal gain and to place himself on a pedestal. That light shining on you atop tgat pedestal is not the light of heaven son. Its the spotlight paid for by your gluttonous televangelist garbage. Worship God. Not men. As much as he will tell you otherwise. That is exactly what he expects you to do.

pvtcairns--There is something we cannot change. It is that we True Christians™ know the Bible better than anyone in the world.

Does that make us better than others? It does in the sense that Jesus knows us and will see to it our eternity is assured. Other Christians in name only will not be so fortunate.

So, while I can understand you might not find our sense of superiority attractive, there is little we can do about that.

Perhaps one day you will visit our small City, Freehold, IA. When you do, you must be on guard or you will find yourself swept away by the holiness that resides here.

So who's a miserable atheist - I'm a happy one. Why? Here's a few things I do believe...

I don't know if God exists, but it would be better for his reputation if he didn't.

I prefer to have an open mind than one closed by belief in just belief.

Patterning my life around other's opinions is nothing more than mental slavery.

Faith must have adequate evidence or it is mere superstition

What can be asserted without proof can be dismissed without proof

The invisible and the non-existent look very much alike.

Nothing is more contrary to religion and the clergy than reason and common sense.

Anybody who gets crucified, whether they are dying for sins or just because they think they are that takes serious guts. And in a way, I care about that.

Being crucified is an awful lot of trouble to go to for someone who doesn't appreciate it.

Jesus died for YOUR sins. He doesn't WANT you to go to Hell. He was willing to hang on the cross for YOU.
