Don't animals have every right to live? If god made animals to be murdered and eaten, why give them nerves and the ability to feel pain? Just because they might not be as intelligent, doesn't give us the right to treat them cruely and justify it. Because the Bible forbids killing other human beings, but it says that mankind is lord over all animals, and God tells us we can eat any animal we want.

In fact, in the Old Testament, God even required animals like goats, cows and doves be sacrificed in His name and have the blood sprinkled around the Temple. We don't have to do that anymore because God's love of the smell of blood was appeased by the sacrifice of His only Son. But Jesus tells Peter specifically, "Kill and eat".

I'm not against drinking milk; I drink it sometimes when I visit some of my organic farming friends. I just can't justify commercial milk. They repeatedly impregnate female cows so they keep producing milk. The male calves are either made into hamburger or veal. The female ones suffer the same fate as their mothers. How I love growth hormones.

Animals have the right to be eaten, played with, sacraficed, killed for sport, killed for no reason, tamed, tortured, experimented on, caged, stared at, squished, or ignored. God, in His infinite love, gave them to us to use as we see fit.
