    This forum makes me fear for humanity...

    At first I thought this place was funny because of the ignorance, but it's actually pretty scary.

    From my side, the only thing I see in you people is deep fear and denial. Humanity will never prevail or coexist with religion. I hope you all have the realization that religion and it's idea of God is man-made, and nothing more.

              Either I exist in a different realm of consciousness in the universe, or I have no consciousness at all. Either one will be fine.

                  I'm afraid not, friend. According to the Bible, we will live in Paradise forever while you and 99.9% of the population will burn in hell.
                  Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

                          Hell sounds like a more appealing place to me. All the free-minded thinkers, best actors, best comedians, and best musicians will be there. We'll all smoke weed together with Satan while you guys live in eternal torture worshiping a jealous and power-hungry god.

                              Free from false promises? Scientists and doctors have been saying they're finding a "cure for cancer and other illnesses" and so far, nothing. In fact, I'm not even sure that all of that donated "cancer research" money really goes toward cancer research. For all we know, scientists and doctors could be using that money for their own condos and to give their kids plastic surgery.
                              And how about the false promises from Obama that the economy would get better and that there'd be more jobs? I don't see a "change", do you?

                              (PS: I apologize about the rant. People like this just get me upset.)

                                  Well, I guess you've made your decision then.
                                  Only thing is... worshipping God isn't torture. In fact, it's one of the few things that actually gives me peace and happiness anymore. If you'd just open your heart and soul, you'd realize that. Oh well.

                                      For someone who is a self professed thinker, you have not thought things through too well.

                                      We don't live in fear and denial. We recognize God and know that He loves us and protects us, so what is there to fear?

                                      Also, since the beginning of the world (and that is THOUSANDS OF YEARS) humanity has existed quite swimmingly and all based around God and all He provides.

                                      Gosh, I realize you are 19 or something and think you know it all and have life sorted out, but until you find God, it is YOU who'll continue to live in denial and deep fear.

                                      I will pray for you to come to your senses, young one.

                                              No, I am not living in denial and fear. The difference between me and you is that I do not actually fear the unknown, which in humanities case, is way too much for us to comprehend.

                                              You offer a very terrible explanation of why we are here. Religion leaves no room for pondering or free thinking. The sad thing is, I've seen a lot of christians who would be great thinkers and human beings if they WEREN'T christian. It's sad what religion does.

                                                  God loves us and He wants us to love Him with all of our hearts. What's there to think about?

                                                      Thing is, if hell was actually a real place, I wouldn't want to go there. If Christianity was actually true and not man-made, and the bible was actually written by "God," then I would choose of heaven.

                                                          I am not living in fear or denial either. I don't fear the Lord nor do I deny him. What is there fear to the unknown, you either go to Heaven or Hell. If you believe in the Lord and follow Him then you will go to Heaven.

                                                          Of course religion has free thinking. You are free to accept God or not. God gave you free will.
