Re: Interview with the EX Vampire! (AKA. Ask an Ex-Goth)
Haha, well, I know this was contra productive, but I also showed you two less freaky images.
The right one is me, the one in white. The other one is a good friend of mine.
But honestly, I told you, I don't run around like this every day, actually only a two or three times a year. The other time I look nearly like a normal person.
This pictures should just show you the kind of art we do. We design our outfits ourselves and most of us even make them themselves. It's just fun wearing great gowns a few times, dancing to classical music and nothing else.
Now I'm convinced and I found my way back to God. Praise the Lord!
I'm just trying to understand why any pretty young woman would go out of her way to make herself look so ugly. Can you explain this to me? Why do you want to look like such a freak? Surely the kind of men you attract dressed like a 'vampire zombie' must be freaks too? Don't you want to find a decent young man?
Re: Interview with the EX Vampire! (AKA. Ask an Ex-Goth)
Oh thanks for your compliment. I was afraid even the first picture could be too much for you...
Well, if I get styled the way I showed you, I don't do this for the reason of wanting to look better. I know most people find it ugly and say my natural look is much more pretty. But I look that way every day and people moste time can get to know me that way. It's just a few times a year I look that freaky. Then I just feel it's time to look different, which makes my life more interesting.
But it's also not like dressing for Halloween to me. I do identify with that freaky style. It's a kind of art to me, although I dont feel like looking sexy or attactive in these moments, and it's not my intention.
But never the less there are men who find this attractive, even if they are very rare.
And you are right, I would like to find a gentle man one day, the important thing would be that he loves me in my all-day-look as same as in my special-festival-look, for this is a part of my personality.
Now I'm convinced and I found my way back to God. Praise the Lord!

Interesting. So what do you want to look like in these moments? Like a monster? Do normal people laugh at you when you walk around dressed like this? Do you do this because you want to scare people, or do you do it just to make them think there's something wrong with you - you know - in the head?
Why would she want to see a psychiatrist? She doesn't sound that unreasonable to me. She identifies with something I wouldn't ever identify with. So what? To me, she doesn't sound like she's the child-eater type.
Should we accuse her of something terrible like that just because we don't like her way of clothing?
There are better reasons to see a psychiatrist than dressing in an unfashionable manner. Psychiatrist are doctors, employed to help ill people. We don't need them to alter bad tastes.
Re: Interview with the EX Vampire! (AKA. Ask an Ex-Goth)
No, I don't want to scare normal people. Usually normal people don't see us like this. We only look like this on our own events where everybody looks like this. I woudn't go out like this to any normal place, because I'd find it respectless. But I still never or hardly look totally normal.
Well.... how can I explain what I want to look like in these moments? That's a bit difficult, especially in a language which is not my first language.
Maybe I want to look a bit morbid, a bit scary, a bit like being a person of poe's dark poets. It's just because I find this quite dark-romantic.
It's not for looking good to satan I've got nothing to do with satan and I don't want to be his bride
I just like looking like not being down to earth, but maybe an elegant vampire lady. But none of us really believes to be a vampire. We just like films like "Bram Stoker's Dracula" and so on. But that doesn't mean that we also want to drink other people's blood. We only like this style.
I know you all here don't like vampires and of course I can understand why you don't. Killing people is no fun, but it's also not realy. It's just fantasy.
Now I'm convinced and I found my way back to God. Praise the Lord!
Re: Interview with the EX Vampire! (AKA. Ask an Ex-Goth)
Addition:
Yet I haven't considered seeing a psychiatrist. I'd agree the last post. I'd not think I'm mentally ill, I've just a different taste, maybe a bad taste in your eyes, but there are worse things in this world than having a bad taste
Those people who really eat babies and rape animals should go there, but I'd say I'm quite healthy.
I'm working hard, I'm studying, I get good marks, I help keeping Europes cultural heritage etc.
There's nothing else wront in my life, except my strange look
Now I'm convinced and I found my way back to God. Praise the Lord!
Re: Interview with the EX Vampire! (AKA. Ask an Ex-Goth)
And one more question, if I may Mr. Green
You think this picture to show a pretty young woman?
Do you realize this is already goth-style?
I believe you didn't realize because you didn't seem to mind.
Honestly I think you're being a bit harsh. As far as I observed, she's just willing to share her experiences and thoughts, giving reasonable account for her position. You, however, seem to be ridden by prejudice. Yet, you don't even know much about goths. When she says the "G-word" you go through the roof.
Your lack of knowledge shows in your opinion about the picture.
Try to give reasons. When talking about goths, rely and what you know, not what you've heard. Don't get me wrong, I do think you have a very compelling and superior position, since you are a true believer. You are, however, a poor judge of reason and you don't know much about goths.
Addition:
There's nothing else wront in my life, except my strange look
So you do admit there's something wrong with that look?
But you said you identify with it, didn't you? You said you like to dress that way and you testified to be totally honest.
DO you think there's something wrong with you or do you not think so?
You should be more clear about this.
Re: Interview with the EX Vampire! (AKA. Ask an Ex-Goth)
Dear Mr. Lorringham,
I am so very glad that I finally found a person here who got exactly what my point is about.
I'm usually not the person who wants to cause trouble and who gets into webpages terrorizing christian people in their own area. And I really hope no one here thinks that this is what I wanted. It's just that I couldn't watch any longer the people discussing a theme about which they don't really seem to know enough.
Maybe the american goths are not the same than in Germany, but I guess there are also only a few people who give bad examples.
It's totally okay if you still not want to be best friends with us goths, it's totally okay if people don't share always the same opinions,
but it's important to know against what exactly one talks and what is just lies and not reality.
Now I'm convinced and I found my way back to God. Praise the Lord!
Re: Interview with the EX Vampire! (AKA. Ask an Ex-Goth)
@ Mr. Lorringham:
Well.. no, actually I don't feel there's anything wrong with me or my outfit, this is just not my first language and it's hard enogh for me to express my statements precise enough.
I'd better say it like this:
There's nothing but my outward appearance, that anyone could find unnormal or wrong about me. Altough I myself think everything is quite right.
Got me now?
Now I'm convinced and I found my way back to God. Praise the Lord!
Re: Interview with the EX Vampire! (AKA. Ask an Ex-Goth)
They will probably quarter me for siding with you. (Which I am NOT!!!)
But I do believe that being a fearfull christian doesn't prevent one from using one's brains once in a while.
You do sound reasonable and honest and I shall thank you for it.
You should, however, listen closely to what people have to say on this forum. They are hard-working true believers and you shouldn't insult us for what we believe. You once mentioned you are agnostic in your spiritual disposition. That doesn't quite fit me. Spread your believes elsewhere.
If you want to talk about goths: I'm happy to listen.
PS: Your signature doesn't quite fit me either. As soon as I come up with a clever latin retort I shall let you have it. (nevertheless a smart signature, did anybody notice so far? Probably not so many educated people put there...)
