Because you will ban me the second I post this and attempt to argue against ignorance, I will make this post count.

You are all defecient. In every sense of that word "defecient"; intellectually, compassionately, religiously, morally, etc.

I say this not because I disagree with what you say. It's no matter of opinion. I say it because RAPE IS WRONG.

Here is, first, why you are defecient, and second, what should be done.

(I) If you believe in the loving father-God of the New Testament, then you have to see that forced, violent, sexual abuse is not something that should be rewarded, or ignored. It is something that deserves punishment both here on earth to the fullest extent of the law, and beyond on that judgement day you so readily anticipate.

Beyond that, if you want to take the bible literally (something virtually NO Christians outside the Bible Belt do in reading scripture), then simply look to Mosaic Law, and the law in Jesus' time. Rape is still wrong. God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because the towns were full of rapists and murderers.

(II) Here's what those parents should do:

1) Comfort the daughter who is probably going through severe emotional and psycological trauma

2) Call the local law enforcement and report a sexual assault

3) Go to the police station with the daughter so she can provide a testimony of what occurred and a description of the assailant

4) Enroll the daughter in some kind of counseling so she can begin to recover

5) Enlist the support of church, community and loving family and friends

You are all very very sick if you think it is in fact God's will that a criminal and a rapist should be rewarded an innocent victim's hand in marriage.

This is not just me disagreeing with you. It's me showing you how and why you are wrong. How you are defecient.

I will never have a daughter. I was never raped.
I can't say one way or another what I'd do - I can only speculate.
Whichever of the two scenarios above - where they to happen/have happened - I'd just be grateful a man though so highly of me and found me just that attractive that he wouldn't be able to control his urges in that moment; knowing he is essentially taking my hand in marriage as well - and not just my body in the moment.

Friends,

I recently received a letter from a concerned parent. In the letter she told me that her daughter had been raped, but was refusing to marry her rapist. The stupid girl actually wants to press charges on the man!

Not only that, but that she also plans to kill the poor unborn baby her rapist had given her! Sickening! Have young people today got NO morals?

Any and all advice on what I can say to convince this girl to do the right thing would be great. Should I start with the basics ?

"Whore, you'll burn in Hell for all eternity - unless you marry your rapist"??

Or should I go for a more subtle approach??
