Yeah, thanks for dragging up a post from a year ago by a guy who actually isn't part of our religion, just another God-mocker.

In the original Hebrew, the word translated as "lay hold on" was "taphas", which means to seize or capture, so the answer to your question is yes.

Perhaps you'd look less like an uninformed idiot if you'd bother reading the Bible before assuming to say what God would do.

There is only one version of the Word of the Lord; KJV1611, written in the original English. God says it, we do and we presume nothing.

Re: What can you do if your daughter refuses to marry her rapist?

Friends, please, lets not point fingers. We have a serious issue that we need to look at with rational clear minds. First, lets do away with all preconceived notions and look at the problem from an honest, devout viewpoint. A man has used a fortunate woman. Why? What compelled the man to do this? What role did the woman play? Was the woman giving the man the 'come hither ' look by sticking her ankles behind her ears like so many do? Or was she seductively teasing him by 'playing hard to get'? If it is the first, who can blame a man? He has an obligation to God to make as many soldiers as possible. He mus seize every opportunity, it is the natural law. No man would dare to go against the law of nature. If it were the second, who could blame a man for being inquisitive? If man were not inquisitive, he would not of learned to read the Good Book, where where would we be? So I fail to see the man having done anything wrong, it is all the female plying her wiles upon the male. A woman should feel honored to raped, to be selected out of all the woman in dark parking garages, to be that special someone. Then to have the audacity to refuse marriage after all the feminine tricks a woman played on the man to get him to mount her, she should be stoned. A woman must feel the honor in being selected to be a mans wife, be it his first of fifth.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

here is how i feel about this whole subject. i feel like the girl has no obligation to marry the boy. sure she may have done things to lure him to her, but he is the one who did the act. if he had any common sense, he would have walked away.

i am from a non-denominational church, i have accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. i have dedicated my life to serving Him. i don't see any reason for everyone to be so mean about this subject. also, with all this hatred in this thread, all i have to say is this. Treat they neighbor as thy self. so since everyone is being to mean to the people speaking reason, i am taking the high road and not getting angry

Let's see. One one side, we have you and what you feel like. On the other side, we have God's Word and what it says. The Bible says she is obligated to marry the boy, so now you see how feelings can lead you astray.

I admit I struggled with this one for a while, too. It's part of a larger issue. Sometimes our conscience and feelings will tell us to do something against God's Word. Should we listen to it, or is it a trick or a test? I wrote a sermon on this topic that you can read here: Follow the Word of God, not your "conscience"

Friend, I appreciate you words of reason. You sound like an intelligent young man and I respect that. However, I'd like you to consider this. Was the man all alone? Were not there two people involved, each equally culpable? The girl now is damaged goods, her purity taken. She is obliged to the male that took it. The male likewise, is obliged to make an honest woman of the harlot.
Son, I am sorry you see so much hatred. Speaking in a firm tone is hard to say on the intranet so instead, harsh words are often used to get a point across.

Can somebody point me to a word spoken by Jesus that even implies that it isn't vile to rape somebody. Rape certainly isn't loving thy neighbor, or treated others as you would want to be treated. It certainly couldn't be an opinion held by a man who ate and dined with the tax collectors and who with a single caring word saved a man dying on a cross for terrible sins.

Jesus is a New Covenant and the laws and practices held in the old testament are no longer relevant.

                              First, consider Matthew 5.

Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.
Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Matthew 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

                              Then go read Deuteronomy 22.

Next time you post it should be in the introduction forum. Please refrain from stupidity.

                              Yours in Christ

In the Beginning God created the Heaven and the Earth. Genesis 1.1. This scripture is the first verse of the Bible for a reason. It lays the foundation for the absolute truth found in God's Holy WORD, the Bible.

Yes, we have scripture to support that. The scripture CLEARLY states that the law of your government should be obeyed. We do not pick and choose which words of God we will obey.
