Seems like the quote mentioned says that before any of the applies, she would have to be caught in bed with the man, but most rapes occur in isolation.

Also, we have to be completely literal and let her dad sell her, but OKs ok to take modern currency when the Bible says silver shekels? If we're going to be 100% literal, then what is the $%^& about what it is in modern currency. Does the Bible says dollars or cashiers checks are acceptable.

Wow, you really read a lot into things don't you. Where do we support rape? All we say is that if you are raped, that you must follow the Bible and do what is right.

The following is an example of a case in which God sanctions rape.

But God does not allow men to just go around wantonly raping whenever they want to. Only when God wants them to. That's why would-be rape victims are expected to be escorted by their father or husband when in public. They are also expected to dress like ladies. What you people are not understanding is that it's not up to us. We don't condone rape, we don't send our daughters out into the wilderness dressed as sluts to be raped. In fact the odds of a True Christian(TM) girl getting raped is very low. Why?

1. Because she dresses and acts modestly
2. Because she does not put herself in situations where rape is bound to occur.

If however, she takes off (as teenagers are bound to do) and decides to whoop it up at a drunken frat party and gets herself raped, then we have to follow Deuteronomy 22. Do you think this is easy on the man? No, he has to take care of her for the rest of his life. He is not allowed to divorce her.

And perhaps, if our daughters realize that if they have to marry their rapist, it will keep them alert enough not to get raped. According to one secular rape "counsellor" I read, around 80% of rapes could be avoided if the woman just used her God given brain and didn't put herself in a bad situation in the first place.
