Harry Potter is about a boy who saves the world doing wonders. Sounds familiar? Jesus Christ did the same thing. God does not like false prophets: Matthew 24:24 "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect."

Why? Because we are supposed to worship God, not Harry Potter: Exodus 20:3-5: "Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;"

But can he be considered a false prophet if he does not actually exist but is merely a fictional character. I think that passage is more related to people who come posing as a prophet spreading the word of God, but secretly are enemies of god. These false prophets are to exist literally, not in a story. A book is different as it does not directly ask people to believe something but offers them an alternate reality to imagine about for recreation, as much as stories of paradise after the apocalypse and heaven would be, simply stories for us to fantasize about, atleast before we do ascend to heaven.

As far as i've read of God in the bible, i highly doubt he truly cares for Harry Potter movies and whether your daghters watch them

You're backpedaling -- even atheists don't make or like that joke. Satan is no laughing matter, friend.

You can't do something like hail Satan and then say "no no, it was a JOKE" and then use your "joke" -- which wasn't obvious from the context at all -- as "proof" that you are right.

I wasn't talking to you when i said 'wow you deciphered that much from what i said'. But anyway, i am not christian, i am more atheist. again i made that joke to ridicule the stupidity of the rest of this forum, and satan is as much a joke as the rest of christianity is when you look at it the way you do. God and satan are figures created in our heads, and if i was to interpret these figures in anyway, Satan himself is not evil, he is merely a friend of God who governs over hell, which can more be seen as a prison for sinners while those who are righteous go to heaven. Ironically, you 'true christians' obviously do feel the temptation by elaborating on such ridiculously concieved ideas such as this one in the first place. As far as i've read of God in the bible, i highly doubt he truly cares for Harry Potter movies and whether your daghters watch them, is more likely to turn them into 'gothic-pot smoking-harlots' because you told them it would, then if you'd never raised the issue in the first place. Stop looking for evil everywhere, your only ruining this life for yourselves, did not god give you the gift of this life so that you could lead it fullfillingly and happily and to serve god as best you can. I think spending hours searching for hidden words in movie posters and then condemning everyone who watches these movies to hell isn't quite what god had in mind, and since when is it your position to say what god thinks about these matters as much as it is mine? All im trying to do is find some rationale in this argument.
