In response to Satanic Video games

Okay. I am not Christian. I do not have any religion. Yes, dare I say it here, I am an Atheist.
And the thread on 'The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion', had a certain impact upon me.
So, I am now aware that you folk on these forums are, in my eyes, insane.
I am at the age of 14. And I watch movies, read books, go outside, play video games and I am in no way shape or form affected by ANY 'Satanic' behavior in video games. Infact, I am affected by going outside more if anything. Outside, where I can see drunken men beating women, drunken women not doing the dishes, firearms and drug dealers.
Now, I have a passion for video games. And you, calling a favorite game of mine (Oblivion) Satanic, is almost rude. Now, you have your beliefs and I accept that. However, saying that gamers are deemed to the vile land of *laughs* Hell because they have played this game and other games of the like. Now all the alcohol, lands of Oblivion, Mysticism spells, Demon summoning scrolls, magic using imps, Vampirism, Vampires and pilfers in the world couldn't make me a violent person and/or make me become a Satanist.
As I speak before you as a gamer, what I am reading makes me sick. So much the the extent that I could masturbate on the cross. And you naturally assuming that everyone who plays this gaming (regardless of age) will go to Hell makes me mad.
Give people a chance for Christ's sake.

Did your God not give mankind free will? Yes, 'God' did give mankind free will. So, what strips me of the right to play these games? What strips me of the right to hand my 2 year old sister this game? Nothing, that's what.
So you can bitch and moan about these games all you want. You can deem people to Hell all you want. But at the end of the day, aren't you just as bad as these terrorists in the middle east?

So, landoverbaptist.net, you can shove your theories up your ass. And leave people be.

PS: This is the best forum emoticon I have ever seen:

      Mate, don't even try.

These gun-toting, ill-mannered, poorly educated, fairytale-believing idiots have no idea about anything outside of their own little worlds, where everything is magically forgiven by an entity not accepted in any scientological and rational societies.

The fact that the game gives the player opportunity to NOT engage in these "satanic" rituals has yet to strike them. And, as far as I g,ow, that's exactly what this GOD fellow is doing, giving us FREE WILL.

Also, it's a fucking game. Grow up, morons. The Internet was founded by Non-believers but you're very keen on using it for your brainless schemes.

P.S. I will be bringing my shorts to Hell, I hear it's very hot.

P.P.S. I just have to say, on behalf of 99% of the Gaming Community: Fuck you, there is no God and you will have spent all of this fucking life for nothing.

      PRAISE JESUS!

I won't even quote the vile abomination he posted about desecrating a Cross !

My, that was one of the most shocking and disturbing things posted here.

That the ground does not vomit him out indicates to me that our Lord is using him as a negative example. But when he dies, mark my words, Satan is going to bugger him with the special Satanic barbed wire wrapped fist for that horrid post !
Jud 1:15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are unGodly among them of all their unGodly deeds which they have unGodly committed, and of all their hard [speeches] which unGodly sinners have spoken against him.

You are so right! Video games are not a waste of a persons time, very productive, holing up in your room, eating processed cheese snacks and drinking Jolt cola. The future of the world is secured, we can have comfort knowing the next generation is in touch and aware of reality.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is a first person role playing game, in which the player embarks on a FANTASY adventure in a FANTASY land. Anyone who takes this stuff literally is no better than a sand-negro (from what I've seen, I'm under the impression that racial slurs are acceptable [though I've lessened the blow with this one]). It is available on the next generation consoles (save for the wii) and PC. It is actually quite a fun game.

Have you gotten inside my head? Do you know what I know? I think not. I've played both Oblivion and !*GASP*! Dungeons and Dragons! SCARY STUFF! Do I still go to Church? Yes, yes I do. Do I believe ANY of that stuff that is, as I said, FANTASY? No, no I do not. Because I, as a normal person of sanity, can distinguish the differences between reality and fiction. Do I still love Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit? I certainly do. More so than when I was a youngster.

You are not a True Christian(tm). Just because you go to a false church and read a false Bible and have a false pastor, doesn't make you a Christian. I have pointed out many instances of satanism, witchcraft, and other forms of bad influence in the game. If you were a Christian like you said you were, you would steer clear of this game as Paul commands us...

Ephesians 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

So why is this the one "True church"? Jesus wasn't a part of it. And I highly doubt that the thief on the cross next to him was part of any church, and yet Jesus promised he would be in heaven. (And for all you know, I am majoring at a college in both Greek and Hebrew, so that I can read the way the Biblical text was supposed to be, which would be even truer than your beloved KJV1611.)

I do not want to be sent to 8 pages of why this is the only church. I'm at home, not in a library. I don't want to read through tons of text. Give me the simple answer.

P.S. Yes, I am a true believer. I believe that Jesus died for our sins, so that we could be saved. You can tell me I'm going to hell all you want for what I do and enjoy doing, and I'll tell you that you're going to hell right back. I know I'm getting into heaven, and nothing you say will convince me otherwise. Because, you know what? The church I go to teaches the Bible word for word. Nothing taken out of context.

You play these games all the time and it becomes second nature to kill and slaughter. Then, instead of waiting to join the military, the kid goes and steals a gun and shoots up a highschool, focusing mainly on girls and Christians. Girls because he's gay and Christians because he has no sense of decency anymore...then it's suicide in the library as SWAT arrives.

Oh my....I see the problems this video game is presenting. Rev. Jim, I feel as though you are saying the truth, however I feel some blame might perhaps be a little misplaced. Again, I apologize if in any way I offend, but I do not mean to. Do you think that the creators of the game intend for the awful nature of it? Or are they simply creating something that they feel may not have a strong impact, if only taken lightly. I truly do not wish to present a huge argument, this is after all, a discussion forum, but I am merely stating my opinion on the matter.

The intention behind the making of the game is moot. You could say the people at Bethesda were intentionally trying to turn kids towards Satan because they are witches and devil worshippers. Or you could say they are just capitalists trying to make a quick buck by putting out a game that would be popular. Either way, it does not change what is in the game and what it teaches our young people. I feel that Bethesda, regardless of intent, has been completely cavalier to Christian morality and should be held accountable for their actions.

I think what can be generally agreed upon is that the game does show Satanism and Witchcraft in a positive light, and I've found that everyone who has defended the game is either a) a Satanist defending the game or b) completely ignorant to the Bible and see no harm in the game.
