Re: Warning!! Video game addicts more violent during withdrawl!

If they were playing a Godly game of tactical paintball instead of the video games, we wouldn't have this problem now would we? What will these kids come up with next? We've already got them negroe "gangstas" wth all their problems. What with the "playa-hatin" and "ho dissin" they've got enough to worry about without any encouragement from the Grand Theft Auto. Can I get an Amen?

P.S. When did you decided to leave your shrubs and find a computer, Undecided?

Gangsta's came before the game. So it doesn't matter whether or not they picked up a game like GTA or some other gangsta type game or not, since they were already set in their ways long before the advent of computer games.

Games like GTA were marketed in such a manner that would make them appeal to the younger crowds ( 12-20 year old teenagers) Because they knew the market for this generation was lucrative and games like that would sell on all platforms ( consoles and PC's ).

This seems like as good a time as any to remind users of the evils of apostrophe abuse.

Here's the latest video game related killing:
Man kills neighbor over missing PS3

by Joshua Fruhlinger, posted May 9th 2008

Being a protective console owner is one thing, but taking obsessive love for one's system to violent ends is a whole other ballpark. Take the story of Edward Keith Stoddard Jr. who was arrested last night in Dade City for murdering his neighbor over a missing PlayStation 3. He's accused of murdering neighbor Douglas F. Abrams when the two were arguing over the PS3 in question on April 24.

It's such a sad thing to hear that someone had to die over something so trivial. Sure, most of us love our systems, but not enough to kill for it. It's not clear whether the PS3 was the only reason for the murder, but even if it wasn't, it wouldn't matter. The story would end the same -- someone's dead, the other's in jail, and the PS3 still missing.
How much do you want to bet that that knuckle dragger quit work early so he could ignore his family and play GTA4 all day long. I don't think they have PS3 in jail, dude.
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

I remember being lured in by a Pong game when I was a little girl. After playing pong (solo) for many hours, I managed to get the paddles in just the right position to cause the "ball" to bounce back and forth repeatedly without further interaction. I remember being in some sort of time warp, where things happened that I no longer can recall. Fortunately, the four "D" sized batteries wore out and I regained consciousness. After my Mother Remington found out, she threw the Pong game into the fire and spit some whiskey on it to make sure it would burn completely. This was the day that I turned completely to the KJV 1611 Bible as my only form of entertainment.

Games. Are. Not. The. Sole. Problem.

Get it? Want me to say it again?

Games. Are. Not. The. Sole. Problem.-
I bolded it also, so maybe it'll sink in.

-or even make up more than 2% of the problem (problem being a criminal society). You could take a child, raise him around a violent family who ignores/doesn't care about what the child does, or doesn't monitor behavior/ ESRB ratings and when the child commits a crime, blame it solely on the game instead of the parents. How much more retarded could you get?

It doesn't really matter anyway, you can bitch and moan and groan all you want, game developing studios aren't going anywhere.

That's just how you guys were making video games out to be, as if they were the greatest influence of deviant behavior in a child's life.

Nope, they sure aren't. I mean, you would figure the parents would have the ability to control and monitor what their children do, but that's just insane these days. Instead of blaming the parents, let's just blame the games that are rated 17+

But they are rated by secular governments that ignore HIS word! Until we have replaced the World's governments with Biblically correct theocracies, your (somewhat biased) plan will fail.

Case in point: The Extreme Shocking Game is being used to encourage kinky sodomite torture in teenagers all over the world. The manufacturer purposely shaped the handles just like dildos (forgive me Jesus) so that they can be inserted in the anus or cooter. Even worse, youngsters are posting videos of this activity. The ESRB rating committee does a pretty decent job at rating a game ( be it console or PC ) when the developers or producers of a game don't influence their decision ( see GTA 4, also my first post on this page: http://www.landoverbaptist.net/showt...046#post184046

Unfortunately, governments of this world, be it the US Government or other industrialized nation, will never fully adopt His Word into political practice fully in all aspects. It won't happen, sorry. Stop dreaming.

No where did I refer to non PC or console games such as the hand held game you linked. All you are doing is syncing that hand held game with virtual games, which in itself is ridiculous. If you are going to present any case for example, at least use one that makes sense, please.

Sister Virginia, that was absolutely shocking (I'm sure Dodger is purchasing the game right now). I have confiscated my son's video game and am in the process of breaking it to bits with my meat tenderizing mallet.

I do have a safe game that I recommend parents give to their children after confiscating their video games.
