Haha, no, I don't like social interactive games like The Sims. And that game you linked sounded like a voice over anyway. I'm more of a MMO, rpg, rts, fps (massively multiplayer online, role playing game, real time strategy, and first person shooter) type of player.

To Glendora, I feel sorry for your son. Why did you buy him the console system in the first place if you were only going to destroy it anyway? It doesn't really matter, as you've already supported any violent game by buying the console system, whether or not you were proving a point to your son. Whatever manufacture you bought it from, be it Sony ( playstation system) Microsoft ( x-box ) or Nintendo (SNES, Wii, any platform) you just supported all games they've ever released.

Teenager found dead after dispute with parents over Xbox

A teenage boy who ran away from home last month after his Xbox was confiscated has been found dead in Canada.

Brandon Crisp, 15, went missing on October 14 after his father forbade him from playing his video game console after becoming concerned about the teenager’s obsession with the online game Call of Duty 4. Steve Crisp said he removed the Xbox 360 after his son’s behaviour began to change. He said Brandon’s grades were slipping, he had started skipping school and stealing money. Brandon fled his home on his bicycle and was last seen in a popular hiking and cycling path near Barrie, Ontario, north of Toronto.

A local newspaper and Xbox creators Microsoft offered a $C50,000 reward (27,000pounds) and 1600 volunteers searched the local area, but all they found was his abandoned bicycle with a flat tyre. Brandon’s body was found by hunters in a cornfield on Wednesday.

In an interview with Canada’s Globe and Mail, Mr Crisp said he had not known how important the gaming system was to his son or how he would react when it was taken away. He warned other parents to be wary of how obsessive children can get with video games. Experts commented that gamers may form bonds with fellow online players, and Brandon’s parents said they were concerned he may have been lured away.

"This had become his identity, and I didn't realize how in-depth this was until I took his Xbox away," Mr Crisp told the Globe and Mail. "That's like cutting his legs off. This is such an issue that hits every parent out there, with video games that are starting to control our kids' lives," he said.
"I just took away his identity, so I can understand why he got so mad and took off. Before, I couldn't understand why he was taking off for taking his game away."

These x-consoles are addicting. I've even heard the kids refer to it as X-tasy, as if it was some kind of euphoria. These dangers are real, and just another reason NOT to buy them for your children, no matter how much they beg.

Hmm why I can agree that some video games can cause aggressive behavior. I would have to say that its just with people mainly that already have issues. Also I would put blame on the parents too. *just beat them or throw them out do not let them spend all day in front of the screen its not good anyways >:O* I would also agree the new generation of games is much worse. I do not even have a new gen system like xbox cause its just shooters and killing games .

Dad Kills Son Over Missing Video Game
Houstonian Ofelio Antonio Otero, 40, allegedly shot and killed his 17-year-old son yesterday morning after arguing with him about a missing video game.

Otero had been drinking heavily when he started arguing with his wife about said video game. His son, Ignacio, joined the argument and then Otero loaded his gun. According to Houston Police Department authorities, Ignacio first tried to knock the gun away from his father and then ran from him.

Otero shot his son in the neck. He fled as his son died at the scene.

Three hours later, he surrendered to an HPD SWAT team after a standoff.

*Whew!* The dang things ARE dangerous! I myself play a lot of "Rome;Total War", and a lot of my animation work at school is for games apps. The C++ I'm learning there is heavily slanted towards gaming, also.

What about all the lives that have been saved from video games? the media never covers the truth which is well hidden. Video Games are a form of medetation which keeps peoples evil thoughts at bay. Tell me what is worse? someone murdering another in real life out of anger or in digital form. bottom line is video games keep children away from drugs and alchohol. Even Jesus would play Call of Duty your not a true Christian if you do not agree on this.

If I were the ESRB and I had to judge the entire game on that one scene, I would rate it Teen.

its not normal people who do this. why should we all have to suffer because a guy cant get his "drug"(games enduce endorpahsn when you do feel good) and he sudenly cant get it. there should be mental screning for this, to make it so that only the loonies have to pay, not the normal folk

Brothers and Sisters, I'm bringing this thread back up because I am seriously concerned about the hatred and death threats we have received over the "supposedly" innocent game of Portal 2.

Brother Cranky gave us one of his wonderful critiques of the game here. Look at the threats we've received!

i've seen this site before (gay sex with jar-jar binks, anyone?) and nothing has made me more angry than the blatant disregard for facts that this guy is expelling out of his fingers.

Anyway, there are many more results, if you go through Brother Cranky's reviews. And this is supposed to be a "peaceful game" not one of the first person violent shooters or anything. If they get this violent over a game rated for kids, no wonder so many actually kill their parents over the more violent games.

Should we join forces with Jack Thompson? He doesn't seem that active anymore. I know they're banned in Freehold, but what about the rest of the US? If liebrals won't raise their children properly, perhaps it's time that we stepped in and started doing it ourselves!
