Jacob, my son, is four years old. I've started using the tips and tricks in this website in my family life and so far it's going pretty good. My wife, Janet, is pretty uncertain but being a woman it's no surprise- she'll get the hand of it. My daughter is also settling in to the lifestyle pretty well too. However, my son is being very difficult.
He becomes distant and sulky when I act dominant around his mother and sister; he hides in his room often. It's understandable to be a bit unwilling as he is barely much more than a toddler but what is really driving me up the wall is the way he has a look of utter contempt when he looks at me. When we sat down at the table for dinner during the last few days he just sneered at the meal at looked at me as if to say: 'Why are you making mom cook stuff? I hate you'.
I had to spank him a couple of times (barely a spanking- I wanted to ease into the hard stuff) and he just wailed for ages and just cried and cried and cried. I swear I broke my eardrums.
Hitting him more as many of you suggested didn't work so I ended up locking him under the stairs for a few hours to calm down. I'm not at all pleased and Janet is no help at all.
I understand Deuteronomy 21:18-21. However, they seems like a last resort to me,
Any tips for teaching my little boy to love Jesus and out new lifestyle?
