I can see where these kids would blend in perfectly with an average group of people. Nope, nobody would notice them at all. Not a one of them would stand out. And besides, don't most of us go to a graveyard when we need a nice background for our family pictures?

I would try and make the case that Goth is as stereotypical as most of you, and OP (original poster), would like to make it seem...but you won't listen to that. Being right even when you're wrong its a pretty major thing about people in today's culture that sticks in my craw, but hey, people are people I guess. Anyway, just for the sake of argument, I'll entertain this idea and try explain this subculture better even for the sated mind.

Goth's don't this to strive for attention. Hell, if that wasn't already evident, I don't know what is, if you're only judging by appearances. We view the world through the same perspective that you all used to, but threw overboard when religion found out how much money and capital it can generate.

We look at the world without the fear of being judged, whether it be by you, by God, by anyone or anything merely because of the way dress. We only care that ALL human beings are judged by their deeds, not by their fashion choices. Its a state of mind, not a cult. Its a style of music, not a religion. For the passive observer its something difficult to describe and completely understand at first yes, but hey we all know that there's a difference between this and reality and the major consensus is that we don't see or even know that difference. BS. We know it. Another important point to make is that we don't go and push our ideas on other people like you do. We don't burn everything that we don't understand. We don't kill those that do not follow in our footsteps, dotting all the i's and crossing all the t's along the way. We enjoy the simpler pleasures in life. The bounties of nature, the blessings of it that God gave this world, and don't interfere with anyone that doesn't want to be a goth, or follow in our foot steps.

Strange apparel is a matter of simple opinion. You think that long black skirts and dark Victorian blouses are strange while I think that blue jeans and button down shirts are strange. Being goth has nothing to do with drugs or worshiping Satan. It is about finding beauty where it is not usually found, because people don't look. It is a deep subculture with so much diversity and different types in it. The gothic subculture first started out as an alternative style of music that originated from punk. Gothic music can range from heavy metal to a soft, beautiful, romantic ballad. Goths aren't depressed, suicidal, mentaly insane, or anything else you have been led to believe. The reason you most likely have this mindset is because you've never acually met a true goth who acually understands the subculture. I feel sorry for you meeting for all of those posers. Geting into the goth scene has acually helped my life in many ways. Before I got into the subculture I was really depressed, cut myself, and thought about suicide almost every day. I looked just like any normal kid that you wouldn't look at twice walking down the road, but inside I was so torn up and felt completely hopeless. My life finally got turned around when I discovered the most amazing music I had ever heard. The music was so beautiful and the lyrics so touching that I realized that I didn't have to be so sad when there was so much out there for me to enjoy. As I started to listen to gothic music and develop an alternative style in clothes, I became less and less depressed. Now, I feel so free and happy. I don't understand how you can call something so wonderful evil. I'm Christian, and I'm gothic. Can't the two coexist together? This is one of my favorite verses in the Bible, "Let he who has no sin cast the first stone." I think you people can learn a lot from it.

And you are right! Jesus has a glorified body, not a zombie body, and we will all see Him again in the flesh when He returns for His millennial reign or if we go to Heaven first.
