Outside the current vampire cult, historically Gothic is an architectural style. Most every thing else you have mentioned is called human history. Put it this way; if you think "Victorian Fashions" is Gothic, do you consider the 1964 move "Zulu" a Goth movie? The clothing and events depicted happened at the height of the Victorian era.

And vampires, Satanic crosses, scanty clothing, men in make up, bi-sexuality aren't part of the Goth scene?

Men in makeup is pretty good looking... (On good looking men, that is.)
That set aside, here's my point.

GOTH HAS NO SET RELIGION.

That's right, you could be Christian, Catholic, Jewish, Shinto, Muslim, Buddhist, Hinduist, Athiest, Wicca, Satanic, anything, and still be goth.

And you can make victorian gothic. All you need is a bit of black. Actually, not even. Just the makeup and attitude of the wearer.

Bi-sexuality is a part of every society, so is homo-sexuality. Vampires exist outside gothic, lemme tell ya. (Twilight, lol)
Scanty clothing is bad on goths because it's black, but not on everyday whores and prostitutes in bright painful pink? That's part of everyday society too.
Depends, is that movie full of the gothic aesthetic of romance, love, and passion?

I love the old Victorian fashions, along with the medival and romantic fashions. They're beautiful. I also love the aesthetic, architecture, and literature gothic has offered.

I actually thought these forums were a joke when i first read them, part of me still hopes they are, but im saying my opnion just in case it's serious. If heaven is heaven going to be full of people who hate, well that's hardly a place i want to be for all eternity. blessed be.

Goth is a deplorable type of heathen culture that glorifies everything that is vile and unholy. The dictionary defines "Goth" as: A crude uncouth ill-bred person lacking culture or refinement. This pretty much sums up the Goth culture today. Goth glorifies things that are sick, nasty, improper, freakish, and downright demonic...

The Goth culture includes Emos/ punks/ Wiccan witches/ self-abusers/ thrashers/ grungers/ heavy metallers, et cetera. This includes the Marilyn Manson, AC/DC, Smashing Pumpkins, Van Halen and Ozzy Osbourne crowd as well.

I'm sad to say goths are by far the most ignorant and scarily single minded people that I have ever had the misfortune into coming into contact with. They gladly spread lies and hatred amongst people. saying things they know next to nothing about. Firstly, when I look up the word goth into my dictionary I get something very different from your well-informed guided google definition. it derives from the architecture. Second of all, when early goth (music) started in England it is very different from what it is today, so really goth is just a demonic figure head. Furthermore to blame music for what the youth of today are doing is exactly the kind of crap i'd expect from wise people such as yourselves. Blaming all of this on music (after all, didn't America have problems before the mid eighties?). I think what is far more dangerous to America is the sick weirdoes (such as goths, and many more on this site I am sure) that reside in America. They are a fundamentalist fascist pig. Please be more tolerant and my replies wont have to be so harsh. please have an open mind.
