Home Schooling Help Needed

Now that the missus has gone to Jesus, it has fallen upon my shoulders to teach the boys until I find a replacement mother for them. I've tried turning the task over to some of the house staff, but they keep confusing it with another type of job entirely.

But I digress. This evening I want to cover geography, so I found a globe in the unused library over in the south wing. I'm thinking the globe must be pretty old though, because I simply cannot find Dutch on it. I seem to remember Dutch being part of the Netherregions, so it is probably a state in Sweden, but I just can't seem to find it.

Does anyone know when the state of Dutch was created and where exactly in Sweden it is?

In the Etheldreda homeschool, we don't use globes, but instead the maps found in the back of our Bibles. The children can trace Paul's travels, King David's conquests, and of course the adventures of Moses and the Jews in the desert, but I must admit, we've never had a reason to look for your Dutchland. So I don't know, but I didn't want to read and not post.

So I don't know, but I didn't want to read and not post.

Well I must admit that family genealogy has a bit to do with my interest. One of my ancestors came over from Dutchland in the mid 1940's after some missionary work in the Mexican state of Brazil. I think they spelled it different then, though. Something like Deutschland.

Old Heinrich was apparantly both a police officer in their state police as well as some sort of war hero. Daddy always said I look a lot like Grandpaw Muller.

Is the map something like this one?



You can locate Sweden between the 'R' and 'T' of the words 'NORTH POLE' and Holland (that's Dutch in Swedish, I know the language somewhat but hate to boast about it) is in my expert opinion (I have an exceptionally good eidetic memory but I hate to boast about as well) on the horizontal part of the 'T' one third of the length from the left.

That's all your boys need to know about such a vile country. Anyway, it will soon be dissolved and its homermajority will struggle to survive in the bottomless pit. Of course, they will survive for eternity but probably wish they wouldn't!

On a more serious note, it's the jolly holiday season and time for a family trip... I really do not wish to visit Sweden as I think the scenery around the ice rim looks much more inviting. I found a brochure (pic attached). You and your boys could come along and I could show your boys some of my moves?

Really? Do they stack them up like whatever that name for a bundle of wood is? I would imagine that dykes are naturally sticky, but do they cement them together? Fascinating stuff!

I'm utter rubbish with geography (my husband calls that a good thing), but if you need help, let me know. I help teach the Christian pre-school and I am pregnant with my first child (I'm praying for a son) and am gathering more knowledge on a solid True Christian Biblical knowledge.

Thank you, Mrs. Johnson. I decided to postpone geography until I find the information I need. This evening I focused instead on world history, explaining how World War II was an altercation between the Japanese and Europe who wanted island vacation space. Then Germany was reluctantly persuaded to assist Poland, France, and the Netherregions in order to prevent the aggressive Soviet expansion. Eventually things got out of hand and because America was the only nation on Earth with the might and morality to do it, Europe begged us to intervene and make the world behave. And we have been tasked with the job ever since.

Dutch is a language and and the Dutch are a people who live in the Netherlands.

You mention you found a globe so finding the Netherlands and the Dutch should be easy. To locate the Dutch/Netherlands you need your globe, a marble and a firm believe the Earth is flat. The Netherlands are a low spot in the earth and even lie beneath sea level. Take your marble and let it roll along the surface of the globe. It will find the lowest spot and stay there, that is where the Netherlands are.

Thank you Roland. That makes sense. We know that no nation could ever sink lower than Dutchland, so using a marble makes perfect sense.

How wonderful. If you ever need assistance, let me know. My husband Pastor Mark Johnson has offered to take the boys at a small fee (if you are interested, Private Message me) and he can raise them with me doing all the maternal, women things. If I wasn't married and had a chaperone, I'd offer to watch and teach them myself in person at your convenience, but given the circumstances, that would not do.

I am well aware of the Netherregions being in a low spot. But I am not for a minute buying the ridiculous claim that the Dutch do not live in Dutchland. Or are you also going to deny that Americans and Mexicans are both languages and people? Americans speak American and live in America. Mexicans speak Mexican and live in Mexico-except for the ones Obama invited to live here illegally and get Welfare checks and free education and healthcare and take everything they can away from decent hard working Americans.

Oh, and Dutch speak Dutch and live in Dutchland, which is somewhere in Sweden and a part of the Netherregions.
