It prevents us executing non-believers, as God commands.

No. He shall return with a sword, and slay 1/3 of the world's population. That's over 2 billion people, right now. (For context, the entire US population is about 330 million.) Read Revelation.

Glad we agree on something, that infanticide is wrong. Sure, the planet is horribly overpopulated, but pregnancy can be prevented by simply not opening one's legs.

It's not. Marriage is before God. A "civil union" is civil. Hence, the word "civil".

God knows everything and is all-powerful. He knew what would happen; he had the ability to change it, and did not. Therefore, it was His Will.

So free will doesn't exist and god wants us to kill all the unbelievers just like the Islamic version of God? I'm not trying to argue with you, just trying to find out where you position is.

Just like? Friend, the islamic god wants to kill the people who don't believe in ISLAM. Jesus kills those who don't believe in Christianity. That's a world of difference.

As for whose threats to listen to, look at who actually carries out their threats: Jesus has a quarter-billion kills to his name, while allah hasn't even topped a hundred million kills yet.

Once again, that's a world of difference, at least to the hundreds of millions of people who chose wrong and got smote.

Hold up there - there's no Biblical concept of overpopulation. "Go forth and multiply". I'll agree that certain corners of the earth are crowded - mostly freeways - but keeping unworthy people from having enough money to buy a car solves that problem. Next time you're stuck in traffic, make sure you thank unions and the minimum wage.

How so? Man is easily corruptable, especially when he has power. With power comes the ability to keep people in servitude or destitute. Power also has the ability to offer benefits to people that belong to your group, usually at the cost of another group. All I'm trying to ascertain is if he believes that everyone on earth who does well for themselves, who are rich enough to live comfortably are blessed by god? Certainly some are, but all?

Ok, So all ture Christaians as you say are blessed here on earth by God. But certainly there are those that aren't, but have money and power anyways. Certainly, due to man made circumstances, there are some true Christians who aren't blessed by God with six figure salaries and good health. Why should they be forsaken to suffer on earth due to the follies of man?
