The posterior is a great place for striking. You don't risk breaking any bones or causing nerve damage, as long as you take care to miss the tailbone.

Meanwhile, the soreness will be long-remembered, when the spanked child sits on one of those hard, wooden chairs I recall seeing in the children's Sunday School rooms!

They obviously have no interest in learning the bible at their age. You could buy them some video games and sports equipment, then wait until they actually care about religion and are able to make decisions for themselves instead of force feeding them your thoughts. Just a suggestion.

Don't you want us to teach our precious children God's truth? Do you want to run the risk that they'll spend eternity in hell? If so, why do you hate them so much, and how could you be so cruel?

I wonder if involving some of the kids might help?

Tell them that the first one who gets the next memory verse right gets to help you hit the others. The children will fall all over themselves trying to get a chance at playing "grownup", and you should see some quick improvement.

Lock the windows and doors and end with a 60-second free-for-all, so they can let off steam and pay attention to the rest of the lesson. (Just be sure to stand on a desk or something so you don't get mowed down.)
