Mrs. Rogers, I might not know what your baptist church is like but like most other baptist churches, mine doesn't support the lottery. If you remember the passages of Matthew, the Roman Soldiers gambled for Jesus's clothes. The lottery is gambling and not good. It can become an addiction and I'm pretty sure it is one of the Seven Deadly Sins.

So where does it say that Gambling is against God? Do you know how often the "good guys" in the Bible cast lots?

Numbers 26:55 Notwithstanding the land shall be divided by lot: according to the names of the tribes of their fathers they shall inherit.

As for the seven deadly sins, they are not mentioned anywhere in the Bible and are a Catholic invention. So a dedicated catholic like yourself should know that they are wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony. So nope, no gambling. It's a good thing too, considering how much Bingo goes on in Catholic church basements.

The Lord and his word the Bible are not theories. They are the truth. You cannot compare the two. Only a atheist or pagan would suggest such a thing.

Everything around you! No matter what religion you are, the deity created everything. For me, it is God. In my opinion, he created everything in the world.
