I already know what some of you think about the fact that the church I attend is ostensibly Lutheran, but now I have something else I feel I should be up-front about:
My mother's mother was an Irish Catholic. More troubling, perhaps, is the fact that her father, my beloved grandfather, was a Jew.
Rest assured I was not raised in either tradition. In fact, my mother was adamant about not allowing me to be circumcised when I was born. So, although Jewish blood is clearly coursing through my veins, and I am racially and ethnically Jewish, I certainly don't hold Jewish religious beliefs, other than the ones which Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ did not declare to be null and void.
So, should I be concerned? Is it possible I might still be culpable in the many misdeeds of the Pharisees, not the least of which was nailing our Lord to a cross?
