The Germans always come up with clever ideas. On the radio this morning was a summary from "Theatertreffen" in Berlin. In a play a teacher is using a gun to keep discipline in class. The aim of the story is to make one reflect over issues like authority and symbols of power. But I felt how the Lord spoke to me through the words of the teacher:
- "I was sceptic at first, but it really works! Now the students actually listen to every word I say, and they do as they are told!"

I am sure that by arming our teachers, the schools will have no problem in focusing on their primary task, education. Sure, the odd student would have to be wasted before the message took root. But it would really improve the situation for everybody else!
A lawyer in Wisconsin had a similar proposal, but from what I see his idea was entirely for the teachers' self-protection.
