What are the best verses to prove God wants us to judge sinners?

Forgive me friends, as I know this has been covered again and again in these forums. I did try a search, but I must by typing in the wrong search terms.

I am currently embroiled in a debate with somebody on another forum who is convinced the Bible prohibits us from judging other people. What are the best verses I can site in order to debunk this silly notion?

    Many Thanks...

Here are a few of my favorites.

    Leviticus 19:15
In righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.

    John 7:24
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

    1 Corinthians 2:15
But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

    1 Corinthians 5:12-13
For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

    1 Corinthians 6:2-3
Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

1 Tim 5:20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
    Who Will Jesus Damn?

Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:

Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)

Proverbs 31:9 "Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy."

2nd Timothy 4:1-2 "I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine."

Psalm 37:30 "The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment."

Galatians 4:6 "Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?"

Oh, thank you brothers! Those are a couple of excellent lists! I believe the person I'm debating is about to get himself "pwned," as they say on the Internet!

Re: What are the best verses to prove God wants us to judge sinners?

False believers will typically try to distort Matthew 7:1-5 to claim that Christians should not judge anybody under any circumstances. Rev. Osborne thoroughly debunks that notion in the following sermon:

The Most MISUNDERSTOOD Passage in All the Bible (Matthew 7:1-5)
          II Thessalonians 1:7-9
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power

The man who is being progressively sanctified will inescapably sanctify his home, school, politics, economics, science, and all things else by understanding and interpreting all things in terms of the Word of God and by bringing all things under the Dominion of Christ the King. -R.J. Thanks Jedediah, I'll keep that bookmarked for the next time I have to set somebody straight on this matter!

2 Timothy 2:16 Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly.
