Re: I'd like to take a moment to clarify something about the Batman massacre.

I'm in Pasadena, CA now, just kind of laying low 'til things blow over. If anybody knows of a good church or fellowship in the area, please clue me in. Also if you know of any job opportunities where I might be able to work under the table, please let me know.

I'm just happy you were still able to drive off after that pepperspray. Are your eyes better again?

Too bad the girl is now in the wrong hands. I wish you well and hope that you can return to your beloved duties for Christ soon.
Maybe a search and rescue party couldn't hurt for the misguided girl.
II Kings 2:23-24: 23And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. 24And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

Thank you brother, my eyes are fine. As for Mei Suk, I fear she is now a lost cause.

Say, um, I do have a purely hypothetical question for those theologians here:

Let's say, just for the sake of argument, that a fellow was to lay with a young lady whose father was no longer living. Would he then owe the girl's mother fifty shekels?

Just curious. I have lots of time to ponder scriptural questions where I am right now.

I had to leave Pasadena rather abruptly, but I'm happy to say that while I was there, I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Pastor Xavior Ries and sitting in on a recording session for this program, "Simple Truths," which is broadcast on KWVE 107.9 FM.

Xavier delivered a rousing sermon on the fact that men have become so soft and passive these days that the women are leading the churches. I tell you, he really did give me some food for thought.

So the next time you see some uppity woman presuming to be in charge of a church, do not bear her any ill will. Because behind every strong woman is a weak man who doesn't love Jesus enough to do his duty!

I believe the payment would be made to the father's estate or heirs. If you like, you can send a cashier's check for $1,000 to me, and I'll be happy to acquire the required weight of silver and transfer it to the proper individual.

1 shekel = 0.4 ounces, but 0.3645833 Troy ounces, in which silver is measured.

            50 shekels = 18.229 Troy ounces

            $28.16/ounce * 18.229= $513.33

Plus shipping and handling, brokerage fees, insurance, and all that, of course. (I'm sure you wouldn't expect me to pay out of pocket for such things in the course of doing you a favor.)

            (Silver is currently $28.16/Troy ounce.)

Um, you did see where I said this is a hypothetical question, right?

Also, by my calculations, the modern equivalent of fifty shekels is quite a bit more than $1,000.
