I can't understand why companies that require the patronage of consumers continue to offend those consumers publicly and unabashedly. The latest War on Religion comes from the makers of Dr. Pepper, that vile soda that defies explanation.
This image was taken from their facebook page, September 13, 2012:

“My ancestors were created in the Garden of Eden,” one user posted in response to the advertisement. “I ain’t no freaking chimp. No more Dr Pepper for my household. God Bless y’all,” Another complained: “this is showing the theory of men evolving from apes. I have lost all respect for Dr Pepper and if Dr Pepper wants business from thousands of people they will need to apologize.”
This has also started a firestorm on one of the front-line enemies against religion and Christians, reddit.
Of course reddit has been hostile to Christians and religion in general for a long time, and they make no effort in hiding their disdain:
The problem with advertisements like this is they perpetuate a false belief. They make a fantasy appear to be acceptable and legitimate simply by virtue of familiarity. If enough people hear a lie and hear foolish reasons to explain that lie, they begin to think that lie is the truth. This is what is happening with evolution.

"They won't learn. Stop trying and just laugh at them, it's the only way to stay sane about it."
"I'm seeing the same people on my facebook feed that were griping about Oreos 5ish months ago now posting pictures of candy corn oreos. It just screams 'I care deeply about whatever it is I've been told to care about this week!'"
"....but they sell Dr. Pepper at Chik-Fil-A....it's like a fundie divide-by-zero!"
"Pepper goes in, Pepper goes out. Can't explain that!"

as inspired by Deuteronomy 8:3.
