Thank you for bringing some sense to this discussion. The bible isn't a buffet luncheon where you can pick and choose what you want to believe. (if it was, I'd avoid the Carrot-Raisin Salad) So folks who call themselves Christians are just liars if they don't believe the whole Bible.

This whole thing is quite funny, just trow everything mankind has invented to date artifacts overboard and make your own belief of how old the earth is. For instance, the claims that earth is only 6,000 years old is pure nonsense, skeletons of humans have been found that are 30,000 years old and this has been confirmed by carbon dating. So there goes the whole 6,000 year theory, because that's what is, just a theory because you fail to bring any evidence of it.

That's the problem, you people launch a theory that earth is only 6,000 years old without any reasonable backup, the Bible does not provide any dates and thus it cannot be used to calculate how old this planet really is. It doesn't matter how old earth is, or if dinosaurs walked the planet before us. The reason why some people can't accept that there where animals and other life before the human race is just because of there own Ego, nothing more. Why would it matter, Dinosaurs where just animals, they didn't invent anything, they are just like the animals today only different in appearance.

Really? It's a constant factor?

So, you're saying that radiocarbon dating has been in use for thousands of years, so the exact decay rate is known as a fact?

Here I thought it had been around for a few decades, and the decay rate was a mathematical extrapolation of a precious few years of recorded observations. There is nothing to say that the decay rate of carbon-14 is not higher or lower earlier in its lifespan.

Incidentally, feathered fiend, how do you propose dating things older than 50,000 years (the theoretical maximum for carbon-14 dating, were it actually able to do what your scienticians claim it does)? Supposedly, dinosaurs are millions of years old.

At my church, we teach the truth. Those dinosaurs were killed in the Great Flood and covered in mud. The incredible pressure from the water hastened their transformation into fossils.
