If I can not sleep does that mean Jesus is mad with me?

    Hello Landover Baptist Church.

It is almost four in the morning in Florida and I can not sleep it has been happening more frequently. When this happens I try to read the Bible since I learn more plus sometimes that does the trick for falling back to sleep.

I have found a few verses that made me sad because I think Jesus is the one making people sleepy look at Proverbs 3:24 it says:

When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.

Not only is my sleep not sweet it is not any flavor at all because I am not sleeping I would not mind some bland sleep or even bitter sleep. Then I found another verse about sleep Psalms 4:8 it says:

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.

I do not worry about my safety next to my bed I have a 12 gauge shotgun and a 9mm handgun and an entrenching tool I was issued in Vietnam it has one edge that is serrated so the safety part I have covered I want the sweet part and the peaceful part.

If Jesus is mad at me I do not know why.

    Thank you.

    Rusty

P.S. I went back and read this and I do not mean to say that Jesus does tricks to make people fall asleep also I have a .30-06 hunting rifle but I keep that in the kitchen.
Psalms 116:6 The LORD preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.

Dear Lord Jesus, As my dear friend Rusty struggles to get to sleep, I pray that you will reach down and touch him in special places even as I pray. In the holy name of Jesus, I claim his bed right now. I approach his bed in Christ's authority, I see him in the Holy Spirit laying there, and I touch him from head to toe. I touch his head and run holy hands all over him, massaging him and I give him through You, Lord, a peace right now. Allow Brother Rusty to picture this and to know that my prayer is creating a hedge all around his bed, one that only he and I can cross since I am his spiritual sleep partner. Let us sleep together, as the songwriter says, in heavenly peace. As sleep now comes, let Rusty know that Your love overshadows all things and that my virtual hand remains there, touching him as he sleeps, bringing every part of his body comfort and release from the stresses and strains of the day. I believe and I claim the promises that Rusty mentioned in his message, Lord. Amen and Amen!

Are you a rich man, Rusty? Because the Bible says the rich will have sleeping problems, even though biased secular studies say that the rich sleep better than the poor do.

Eccl 5:12 The sleep of a labouring man is sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep.

If this is the cause of your sleeplessness, then no, God is not angry with you. He has blessed you.

3 Jn 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

God wants to prosper those who serve Him, yet if you prosper so much that you become rich, you will have trouble sleeping. But God has also promised to give sleep to those He loves.

Ps 127:2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

But just because God makes a promise doesn't mean he will automatically fulfil His word. You've got to claim God's promises through faith.

Heb 6:12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

If I were you, I would try quoting God's promises to Him and asking Him to fulfil them. If you have enough faith, God will give you sleep. Sweet dreams, Rusty.

Brother, I feel that your unease stems from your reliance upon an automatic pistol, they being known to occasionally be unreliable.

God loves you; it is not from sin that you suffer sleeplessness. I believe that if you were to obtain a godly revolver, of .38 Special or larger in caliber, that your cares would disolve and sweet rest would come unto you.

I myself prefer a larger caliber, but that is simply a matter of choice. Your new revolver will always shoot when you need it and your enemies, the enemies also of the Lord God, will be vanquished.

        That is my advice.

        God Bless!
God judgeth the righteous, And God is angry with the wicked every day- Psalm 7:11
