  • McCain/Palin make history, confirm Maverick status

Just some more of McCain and Palin being mavericks that play by their own rules, proving that they aren't like all those other presidential campaigns we've seen in the past.

    October 11, 2008
A HISTORIC TICKET.... Now that Sarah Palin has been found to have abused her powers, violated state ethics, and lied about it, I did a little digging and found an interesting historical footnote.

The McCain/Palin ticket is the first in American history in which both candidates were found to have violated ethics standards before a national election.

McCain, of course, was admonished by Senate Ethics Committee "for exercising 'poor judgment' for intervening" with federal regulators on behalf of Charles Keating, as part of the infamous Keating Five scandal.

And now McCain's running mate has also been found to have violated state ethics laws and abused the powers of her office, as part of the "Troopergate" scandal.

The nation has had 102 major-party tickets covering 51 presidential elections over more than two centuries. And we've never had a ticket in which both candidates on the same ticket were responsible for ethics violations before a national election. McCain/Palin is the first.

It makes the whole "reform" pitch a little more difficult, doesn't it?

Sometimes you've got to break the rules to get things done in Washington. These two won't take no for an answer and won't let petty party politics, partisan attacks and meaningless bureaucratic difficulties get in the way of achieving their goals.

Praise Jesus! Hopefully, their administration won't even bother to look for a reason to invade Iran!

Those liberals insisted he needed a reason to kill those Islamofacists so Bush said they have weapons of mass destruction to start the war; McCain won't even bother with that, he'll just invade and won't let the demoncrats stop him!

The word is McCain is not even going to bother swearing the oath of office because oaths don't apply to mavericks. It is about time we had a leader who would bend the rules to get things done. That is is the problem with GW Bush (God bless him), he worries about silly things like the Constitution too much.

Time to reclaim our FREEDOM from the “Mullah in Chief” and his growing activist voter hoards of socialists, communists, anti-Semites, anti-Christians, atheists, radical gays and lesbians, feminists, illegal immigrants, Muslims, anti-Anglo whites and others.
