It's the 21st century. Do you think you will get ANYWHERE with your blatant racial stereotypes, your..."different" theories, and the belief that Abraham Lincoln was a terrible president? Ok, go over to Washington D.C. and say that Lincoln was a terrible president and that African Americans are inferior. Let's see how long you will last in the real world, not your little safe haven in Iowa.

What are they teaching you in school these days? Have you ever read the Emancipation Proclimation? It was a worthless peice of paper. He did it to stir up trouble so he could violate the constitution. Yes... He did violate the constitution in several ways. He was also owned by the railroad, which wanted access to the south.

Violations: He called state regiments into federal service. He used the federal government to interfere in state governments(You'll remember that states has absolute rights within the states. The federal government only had juristriction in matters of interstate commerce.) He took property without due process. He also had illegal troops perform illegal searches. There are a few other things, but I can't think of them off the top of my head. We have a government that's too big today because of him......

After all of that, he was working on a bill to get rid of all Negros(deporting) because he didn't like them. He was shot before he could complete that.

What Lincoln proposed officially and publicly was that the United States government buy the slaves and deport them to Africa or South America. This was not a passing whim. In five major policy declarations, including two State of the Union addresses and the preliminary Emancipation Proclamation, the sixteenth president of the United States publicly and officially called for the deportation of blacks. On countless other occasions, in conferences with cronies, Democratic and Republican leaders, and high government officials, he called for colonization of blacks or aggressively promoted colonization by private and official acts.

I'd always wondered, because I'd read the emancipation proclamation. All slaves not already free shall be free on the 1st of next year??? That never seemed right to me. He'd obviously already wanted to invade, but waited long enough for most of the north to get on board. He believed in white supremasy.

Another question, why the hell do you bake pies and put them on your window sill. Its called letting them cool off on your counter. Maybe if you didn't have a learning disability you would realize that baking pies and putting them on a window sill gets them stolen you wouldn't do it anymore.

That is the traditional place to let them cool off. Why, the people of Freehold have been letting their delicious pies cool on windowsills for generations. Good, upstanding True Christian™ neighbors delight in the smell of fresh baked pies wafting by.

Actually, now I come to think of it: Why would a woman need to be walking about in the street? Going to work?
Anyway, while Lincoln was undoubtedly the worst Republican President ever, he did at least have some decent Republican ideas.

During the Civil War, Lincoln appropriated powers no previous President had wielded: he used his war powers to proclaim a blockade, suspended the writ of habeas corpus, spent money without congressional authorization, and imprisoned 18,000 suspected Confederate sympathizers without trial.

Interestingly, the roles of these parties reversed at the close of the first world war, when hoardes of poor Southern nigras emmigrated from the impoverished South to laze away in the earstwhile Norhern states.

Isn't that surprising?

For instance, Lincoln's GOP was of a "demoncratic", lieberal stripe, and the Democratic party of the post-Civil War period was highly conservative.

Why, just yesterday I was reading from my private, historical library;
in a bound volume 1918 Outlook magazines, there's a lampooning cartoon of
Henry Ford,
a "true Christian" conservative paternalist if there ever was one.
He was running for office in Michigan. He's drawn along in a broken T Ford, hauled by a donkey.

I'll find that cartoon later tonight, photograph and post it.

Yes, it's odd but true: Republicans then were the Demoncrats of today,
and vice versa.
