We rely on petroleum for much more than just powering our vehicles: It is essential in everything from jet fuel to petrochemicals, plastics to fertilizers, pesticides to pharmaceuticals. According to the Energy Information Administration, our total domestic petroleum consumption last year was 19.5 million barrels per day (bpd). Motor gasoline and diesel fuel accounted for less than 13 million bpd of that. Meanwhile, we produced only 4.95 million bpd of domestic crude. In other words, even if we ran all our vehicles on something else (which won’t happen anytime soon), we would still have to depend on imported oil. And we’ll continue that dependence until we develop our own oil resources to their fullest extent.

Alternative sources of energy are part of the answer, but only part. There’s no getting around the fact that we still need to “drill, baby, drill!” And if those in D.C. say otherwise, we need to tell them: “Yes, we can!”

Since oil is so important for fertilizers and plastics and medical equipment, doesn't it make sense to use something else to power our cars?

We're never gonna run out of oil! For those of you who haven't heard, this whole story about oil being a "fossil fuel" is sheer nonsense. For one thing, the Earth is only 6000 years old, so how can anything be a "fossil?" Them fossils they got in museums are all phony, created by liberal organizations such as ACORN to promote their wacky evolution theories, all of which have been disproved by The Bible.

Thanks to our creation scientists, we know the truth - what we got is abiotic oil, which basically means that the center of the Earth is a big gooey creamy nougat of oil created by the Lord. That's why when you see volcanoes erupt, there's fire coming out - it's burning oil! All we gotta do is drill down there to the volcano bottoms and the oil will flow forever into our SUV gas tanks, but the wacko environmentalists won't let us. The Sierra Club - another powerful and vicious Muslim organization like ACORN - has sent troops, terrorists and suicide bombers to fight our brave oil companies drilling in Alaska, Saudi Arabia and other American colonies. The leader of the Sierra Club is the Jihadi warrior Al Gore, who works closely with other well-known terrorists such as Osama bin Laden and Michael Moore.

Thank the Lord that we got Sister Sarah Palin on our side! The dark forces of ACORN and the Sierra Club don't stand a chance against the relentless truthspeaker Palin. One thing we can be sure of - she's no quitter!

Good point Sister, and this is highly likely with the tribulation interruption presidency of Barrack HUSSIEN Obama. That is my Sister Palin's message of Hope is so important right now! Yes, once the scourging of America is over Jesus will turn the oil on again and Mexicans will be pumping gas into our SUVs all over America. All we need to do is retake congress the whitehouse, dissolve the fedural union and invade Iran. It can happen!
