If you bother to read your Bible, you will notice many verses condoning and even supporting the issue of slavery. Just one for example, this concerns selling your daughter into slavery.

Exodus 21:7-8 And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do. If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her.

I hadn't realized that offering the chance of free passage to the New World, a worthwhile career with training in a Domestic environment and a decent Christian education had been stopped!

You want to talk about dumb? "Love thy neighbor" is not one of the Ten Commandments (Deut. 5:6-21). Check mate, false Christian. See, maybe if you actually started reading the Bible instead of just pulling things out of your ass regarding what you think God wants, you could save yourself the embarrassment of being proven wrong.

Furthermore, "love thy neighbor" does not mean "love everybody". Your neighbor is your fellow True Christian™. The Bible commands us to withdraw and isolate ourselves from unsaved scum such as yourself (1 Cor. 5:11, 1 Cor. 10:20, 2 Cor. 6:14-17, Eph. 5:11, 2 Thess. 3:6, 1 John 2:15, 2 John 1:9-11). Hence why we have an "unsaved unwelcome" policy at our church.

I am pretty sure that she could just show her husband your post and let him read it for himself. Though, it IS a little hard to read your post due to the lack of commas and whatnot.

And as others have pointed out before, there is no actual verse in the Bible that commands us to love everyone, unconditionally and at all times.

There are many different verses that speak of how we are to conduct ourselves lovingly towards certain persons under specific circumstances, but grasping the truth of those verses requires close, discerning reading of the Bible which the majority of folk calling themselves Christian have failed to do.

Please also bear in mind that God made many provisions for the treatment of slaves in the Bible. Nowhere in its pages is there any clear, unequivocal command to abolish slavery.

The people who used Bible rhetoric to argue against slavery were playing fast and loose with its words. Just as are the people who are arguing for the acceptance of homosexuality.

The Bible is not a book that promotes "progressive" values. It is a book that sets forth clear standards and specific delineation of roles and responsibilities.

It also proclaims uncompromising and unpleasant consequences for those who disobey its commands.

Simply put, God does not mess around.

Do forgive me if I would rather ackowledge what He actually has to say on various subjects than slog through what you THINK He has to say on various subjects.

I have to admit, I am a modern man and do not like slavery. I much prefer 'indentured servitude' as it is a much more professional sounding title. The nigras and messicans on the plantation love thinking that they are management. They can see on their little cards kept in the Hutchins Company store, exactly what their worth (well, negative worth) is. I have one valued employee, he is into me for over $40K. That will be a terrific write off once he dies which should be soon as he is in his seventies and has worked for me close to thirty years. Recently, he has turned into a complainer, wheezing and talking of chest pains. I think he is just a slacker. He never used to have a problem running the plow. Well, you know how they are.

One of the fun games I like to do with the workers is fail to write in some of their incurred expenses. They think they are going to be able to zero out or even be on the positive side. Then POW, I mention the expenses that were not noted. To see a nigra go from standing tall with a smile to slumped over and weeping is a sight to behold
