You seem bright enough to believe this is unconditional love or since it does not have the word unconditional you cant believe his love is unconditional. You seem to believe in the Bible word for word. If the word is not in the bible it is not true then. It doesnt seem like you can take symbolism of the meaning behind the text pastor.

I go to a Catholic Church. I have studied Catholic Theology and the Bible (its history and meaning) for 11 years. Through these scriptures and others that I have read. I can come to the conclusion God loves us all equally and unconditionally and it is up to us to choose to accept his love. we are the ones who choose to go to hell not God. By not accepting His Love we live in the absence of Him, which ends up in Hell a total removal of God.

The pastor and I are discussing the Bible and the meaning behind it. I am enjoying it personally. James I do not turn my back on Jesus, I simply love and respect his sinless mother as well. She is our mother

I am in fact a practicing Catherlik, properly spelled Catholic, and i have a strong faith in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit... aka those beings that join to make the holy trinity. i have been following this conversation, and am intrigued to find the wide range of topics this has covered...

You do not get to pick and choose what parts of the Bible you agree with. No way buddy, can you say I just wan't the desert please, I don't like meat and vegetables

i know this was from a little bit back, but it still sticks out to me... what if i was a vegetarian? or i could get the food and eat around the food i didnt like... We Catholics believe both in salvation sola fides and sola scriptura. Basically, we can earn salvation either by having faith in God, and/or by following the scriptures. but we can interpret the bible without being persecuted or setenced to life after death in hell.

yes, we do pray to Mary. what is so wrong with praying to the mother of our lord Jesus Christ? we do not idolize, we simply pray through these catholic role-models for our prayers to get through to God.

If i am reading into your beliefs correctly, your faith revolves directly around the bible. Are you allowed to interpret the bible for yourself, and not take it literally?

If you are interested in the beliefs of the Catholic Church, feel free to ask. but please do not argue until you have your facts straight. once you have been through years of Catholic education, and have spent years in College studying basically the same thing as you would in grade school through high school, but at a deeper level of intellectuality, feel free to argue my beliefs with me, until then, i will gladly have a friendly conversation with you about what we believe, and what sets our religions apart.

again, we do not worship false gods. they are simply more ways to reach God. who is the one and only God that Catholics believe in. we recognize saints as people who served God with their entirety. They gave up their lives for god and for going out into the world and living as God wants them/us to do. so we should celebrate them and ask them for their help in reaching God, since they have a closer relationship with Him than we people on the Earth do.

and as a second thought, women are not subservient to men. Women are subservient to God, just as men are. Men and women are equal in the eyes of God. In fact, all people are considered equal in the eyes of God. and who goes to heaven and hell will be determined on the final judgement day when we go to the gates of heaven and we will stand at Gods right hand and he will decide who goess to heaven and sits next to him at his table, or who goes to hell. that is for HIM to decide, not for you who claim to be the "true christians" to decide.
