New York Gubernatorial Candidate Carl Paladino has propesed a Free Market solution to the Ground Zero Victory Mosque in this CNN (Comie New Network) interview

Paladino stakes out the Libertarian position as governor he would cut taxes, abortion, same-sex marriage Medicaid, cut taxes and the size of government. While as True Christians™ we may take issue with his permissiveness this bit of fee market thinking has caught our attention.

We will declare it, under the law, to be a right which is within the definition of public use. As long as it is within the definition of public use, which includes the zoning restrictions, then we would have a right to use eminent domain to place such a restriction over all the properties in that area.

Paladino will use the libertarian doctrine of Eminent Domain and confiscate the land at 911 Victory Mosque and turn it into a 911 memorial. Apparently Paladino would like to extend that to all building touched by dust on 911 that they all be declared 911 memorials.

It is about time that we place our trust in people and not in government, like Paladino is doing here. We need to trust in people to exploit the law to forcibly take the private property of people they don't like

What a wonderful idea. In a truly laissez-faire, free-market, limited-government society, big government would not have to power to micromanage our lives by letting the mooselimbs do what they like with their own property.

Yes Pastor. I am sure once that property is taking out of the hands of it's irresponsible owners and converted to a memorial along with most of lower Manhattan it will create jobs in a community otherwise blighted by the socialist nanny state.

Maybe that's something that the Canadians actually got right. You never own your land, it is always property of the Government and you have a "Freehold Lease" to it.

As for the American laws, I don't know, hubby dealt with all of the purchasing and such.

I note the proposed mosque site is a former Burlington Coat Factory.

Why aren't they still there making coats? Government taxes, state regulations, and union problems, that's why.

I think we should support alleviating these anti-Capitalism obstructions and put the Godly coat factory back where it started!!

It's clear to me that what we really need to do is build THREE new towers (to symbolize the Trinity) out of the petrified bodies of Muslims whose souls our troops have sent to Hell. Remember in Star Trek when they froze that guy into a block of steel? We must have the means to do that by now. The only issue would be finding enough corpses... but if that's really a problem, we can always make more!
