Yes, Illith, controlled burns. The Pre-Americans burned fields to keep them from becoming woodland, and to encourage certain plants to grow (like camas, for example, a pretty flower with a nutritious tuber that thrives after fires), and also to chase buffalo or similar animals, like lemmings, off cliffs. They did not have rifles with which to humanely kill their food.

The Pre-Americans were clearly put here by God to act as caretakers for the land prior to the arrival of Americans. In return, God gave them use of that land for almost 6,000 years! If that's not a bargain for house-sitting, I don't know what is.

Now, Illith, if you did your homework, you would realize that the Pre-Americans happily sold their most valuable real estate for shiny beads, alcohol, and blankets, among other treasures. Even after they demonstrated their middling concept of land values, Americans still provided vast pieces of property, or "reservations", where most Pre-American tribes now operate casinos and make millions per year off heathen tourists with more dollars than sense.

Now that our history lesson is complete, I do hope we can get back to the topic . . . talking points about Hitlery Klingon!!
