That's almost funny, friend, especially in the light of you accusing us of having a 'Pick 'N Mix' version of true Christianity. It's obvious you haven't read the whole Bible.

Can you tell me what the Bible says happens to people who die without having accepted Jesus Christ as their savior? Should we "tolerate" peoples' ignorant choice to reject Jesus, or should we do as the Bible commands us to and try to help them get saved.


That's kind of funny, too. Before I got saved, I had a tolerant attitude towards other people's lifestyles. I didn't care how people chose to live their lives -- it's their lives to live after all.

lets see, i was once saved. and i DID really want it. sometimes i didnt think i had really wanted it so i asked to be saved agian and really did mean it. but then i couldnt live the life. i couldnt live seeing those who werent christians and thinking "wow...pitiful how they arent saved." and then try to stay clear of them. i couldnt handle it so i just dropped it all and stopped. People tell me, "then you must have never really been saved." maybe not, i dont know. i know that of Predestination where religions think that there are people who are already said to be saved and go to heaven and others who will never be saved and go to hell with no choice. but i just HEARD that. Either way, Ive lived the Christian life and it was horrible. i even tried my hardest. I never got the close your eyes and put your hands in the air singing god almighty and getting the holy ghost put in you. Ive gone to one of those before, seeing my friends being sent to the ground when the person put thier hand on their head claiming the holy ghost is now in them. it pissed me off when they made me get up there. i showed them things they didnt want to see and refused thier holy ghost. so thank you.

Right, now having read through the Sermon you posted I noticed a few... Problems right there, specifically where every example you gave was preceded by 'I need the Bible to tell me that it is wrong'. Now I assume that you believe that Humankind is Gods most precious creation, that we were created in his image and gifted by him the dominion over the Earth, yes? So why would God gift us with Sense, Reason, and Intellect only for us to forgo their use? (To ascribe an old quotation)

As a point of fact, to truly believe that God made us in his image one must also accept that the very things that make us human, our Compassion, Love, and Understanding, must therefore be gifted to us by God. Humanity fell from Grace not by Temptation, but by Gods will. After all if God created us then he placed those selfsame traits of Curiosity and Wonder within our hearts. And since were on this subject can you categorically tell me that God only created in us the Emotions and Senses and Morality that the Bible tells you to follow, or will you instead concede that all these wondrous things that each person is filled with, including our Conscience, is also gifted to us by God?

If our Conscience tells us Rape is wrong, and if God placed that Conscience within us, then surely by adhering to every literal word in the bible and ignoring our Conscience we are defying God, by not embracing the gift that he gave to us? What right do you have as a Mortal man, to tell me or any other person that you understand God by a rigid Adherence to the Bible? How many times has the Bible changed since it was written? How many sections were edited over the centuries as it was adapted to it's modern incarnation? How many of the true words of God were removed because the Church decided that we didn't need them?

Nobody here is claiming otherwise. God made man and woman naturally curious with and no ability to tell right from wrong. Then he created a talking snake and set it loose in the garden. Of course God knew that snake was going to talk them into eating the fruit. When I read the Bible for the first time and I got to end of Genesis chapter 2, where God just finished telling Adam and Eve not to eat the fruit of that tree, even I knew they were going to eat it.

Man is a sinful fallen being. Our conscience is a poor guide to telling us right from wrong, as I proved in that sermon. By ignoring it and following the Bible instead, we are obeying God. God specifically tells us to ignore our conscience and follow His commandments instead (in Deuteronomy 29:19-20).

As I strongly suspected all of these responses are what I expected. When your belief system is challenged you fall back on the standard 'It's in the bible, so there' attitude. As I stated in my last post, who here can actually claim to know what god truly wants from us? Who here can claim to have read the 'True Word Of God'? Is it not globally accepted now that the Bible itself is a corrupted form of the scriptures that were originally laid down? That in truth the Bible as we know and accept it today is just the bits that were cut and pasted together with some sections omitted and others completely rewritten?

If you can find me an original piece of text, dated back to the time of Christ, unedited and completely unaltered in any way shape or form then I will withdraw my argument. But the truth is you will never find it, there is no 'True Bible' all that there is that exists today is the doctrine preached by the Catholic church and altered to suit the various splinter christian groups that sprung up over the centuries. The Bible itself was decreed and ratified by not God, or even one of his attendants, but by Men. Men who thought that they had the right to decide which of God's words were suitable to be preached to the masses. So knowing that these things are facts, cold hard irrefutable facts, can you explain to me why it is that you believe wholeheartedly in what is essentially the shell of the Bible?

A good place to point your attention would be the numerous versions that arose as ancient scribes copied earlier books, they wrote notes on the margins of the page (marginal glosses) to correct their text—especially if a scribe accidentally omitted a word or line—and to comment about the text. When later scribes were copying the copy, they were sometimes uncertain if a note was intended to be included as part of the text. Meaning that versions arose that were incomplete or copied incorrectly, as these various versions spread so too did the word of God, preached slightly differently depending on the Bible one read from. I'm not disputing that you believe that the beliefs you cling to are the true wishes of God, however I do argue that perhaps you are following the wrong words? Or that perhaps everyone that has lived and died since the first copies of the Bible were made, might perhaps also have believed they were following the true word of god, when in fact they followed the word of God, with certain bits left out. What proof do you have that the version of Christianity that you follow, is the truest version of that other than your 'Faith'? After all Faith can easily be misplaced, and if it is the work of the Great deceiver that you be lead down the wrong path, how would you even know? Have you ever received a Visit from God? A vision perhaps? Something with hard physical evidence to back up such a claim? Or do you rely on what you have been taught, what you have been told? And hope that in the darkness of night you really are doing God's will, and that when you die you weren't wrong after all.

Oh and as an aside, I do not follow the Path of Islam, nor am I a Miss, the whole reason this thread exists in the first place is due to the misplaced Idea that somehow those five boys were wronged in some way. I submit the very Idea as preposterous! Do you know what the beliefs of those boys are? Do any of you? What if you had the opportunity to ask them personally what they believe? Would you be surprised to hear that they are all Atheists? Indeed as a matter of fact most Chav's are Atheists, whereas on the other hand there is a sizeable number of Goths that are Christian.

You lump us all in together as one group of evil, but scream righteous indignation if we told you that you were exactly the same as the Catholics since you are after all 'Christians' that must mean that there is absolutely no difference in Theology whatsoever, that there isn't countless fundamental differences in your belief and that you must all be statue worshipping Idolators. The same argument exists amongst Goth's, yes we are all Goth's but the subculture is splintered in many myriad parts, we have Christian Goths, Victorian Goths, Medieval Goths, Industrial Goths, Wiccan Goths and Satanist Goths etc...

The only uniting factor is the fact that we are all Goths, other than that the differences quickly become noticeable if you take the time to look a little deeper. So don't just lump every single Goth in the world into the same category, we aren't all the same, and we all have our own beliefs. This is not saying that the law is stacked against Christians in any way, it is stack fairly against everyone under the laws of the country they are in. If the "goth girl" had been the one to murder these boys, and said it was because of her religion, would you not think she should be the one to go to jail? Claiming an act based off religion is not a valid argument because even if you feel God has spoken to you, telling you to commit an act which he himself condemned with the basic laws set forth by the Ten Commandments, don't you think someone with common sense could see something contradictory there?

If you disobey a basic law set forth not only by your country, but by your God, why do you feel these boys should be helped to defend themselves from the horrible act they committed?

Those boys are going to jail because they violated one of their secular laws. No one is denying that. But judging whether they were justified or not Biblically is another debate. Someday, when a Godly True Christian Republican is elected president, he will overturn the Constitution and enact the Godly laws of the Bible. Then the goths will have no where to hide.
