  • What's for lunch: Roasted Sea turtle

    This is the first of a new series of What's for lunch posts. My new favorite dish is Roasted sea turtle sandwich on foccacia with arugula, kelp, and garlic aioli.

    They're going to be serving them daily from the port of New Orleans for the next seven months.
    May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

    Sounds delicious. I think I could just gobble one down on the half-shell. Have you ever had a manatee burger? They're easy to hunt because they just get caught in the boat motor.

        Instead of arguing semantics with me why don't you try one. Then you'll understand.

              Why do you think God made animals out of delicious meat? He wants us to eat them.

                  I may have to swing down to that hell hole New Orleans and get me some cajun sea turtle, it does sound tasty.
                  Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
                  Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
                  Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
                  Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
                  Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
                  Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

                      If you guys come down here you should try Koala a true delicacy from the Australian bush. We call the meat "Tree Pork"

                      These furry menaces taste delicious, especially Koala ribs, smoked then served with a spicy hickory sauce they can't be beat.
                      2 Samuel 22:31

                      As for God, His way is perfect;
                      The word of the LORD is proven;
                      He is a shield to all who trust in Him.

                          Well I've had black bear and grizzly, if you get a young one that DOESN'T hang around the dump, it does taste like pork. So I guess Australian bears would taste the same.

                          Then again Garbage bears are absolutely horrible tasting (you are what you eat?) so do Koalas taste like menthol?

                            Brother King -
                            Sadly frying them alive tends to distress Koala's somewhat and consequentially makes the meat go stringy -

                            Slow cooking only and with continual basting is recommended

                              Sometimes they get a eucalypt taste but thankfully this is an excellent and complimentrary condiment to the hickory sauce
