When the boy left, David came out from the south side of the rock. He bowed face-down on the ground before Jonathan three times. Then David and Jonathan kissed each other and cried together, but David cried the most.

Can somebody explain to me how this isn't expressing homosexuality?

Do you see homosexuality in everything? That's usually the sign that you're a homer yourself. It is common in the middle east for men to kiss upon Greeting. Our Great President Bush kissed the king of Saudi Arabia, are you going to say that G.W. Bush is homosexual as well?

As for crying together, look at the context. David was being driven off by Saul, losing his best friend. Are you so heartless that you don't care if you will never see your friends again? I'll even bet that you're an atheist and only here to mock God. You didn't even have the common courtesy to introduce yourself in the introduction forum.

You won't find it by twisting bible verse.

This passage is about Saul's fears about David usurping as king. Saul seeks his death, but the plots only endear David the more to the people, and especially to Saul's son Jonathan who loves David (1 Samuel 18:1, 2 Samuel 1:25-26).Warned by Jonathan, David flees into the wilderness.

I don't agree with these nutjobs very often but I do here. I dont think this verse of the bible has anything to do with being gay.

Here in Vegas in the seventies and early eighties, when the italian mobs ran the show I saw them kiss each other all the time on the cheek and if you called them homosexuals, you would get whacked and buried in the desert.

ReeceM, I don't know if this will help you... but in the Bible, the phrase "lie with" is used to indicate sexual relationships. Nothing of the sort is mentioned in that passage from Samuel.

One example of what I mean is found in Leviticus 18:22 "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination."

A kiss can be innocent, used to show brotherly love.

As everyone has said, kisses are innocent and non-homosexual. Why, I see Pastor Zeke kissing young men all the time, and there's no way that a Godly pastor like him is gay! I think you just need to stop your paranoid homophobia and seeing the gay where there is none.
