Can I eat Mussels in Belgium?

    Hello Fellow Christians

I need some advice. I have been looking at the threads in this great Godly Forum and I haven't quite the answer I am looking for.

Recently I traveled to Belgium (for those of you who haven't heard of Belgium - it is a small country between France and Germany).

Whilst I was there I ate (what I thought) was a lovely dish of mussels (local shell fish) and fries.

I was filled afterwards with self doubt. Should I have done this?

Please help me with some advice - is it unchristian to go to Belgium and should I eat mussels there?

    Yours in Christ

You have been fooled by the communists. Everybody knows that Belgium does not exist.

Many of our members are uncomfortable with eating shellfish. Doubly so if it is done in an imaginary country!

Sure, we are no longer bound by the dietary laws in Leviticus, but we must not forget:

      Leviticus 11:9
These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.

At last count, mussels have no fins or scales*, and worst of all, are sometimes spotted in Hollywood. (the Brussels variety)

So no, Jesus and me can not condone this.

      * the ones from Fukushima don't count
      Psalm 81:10:
I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt:
open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

Thank you brothers for opening my eyes. I think that I have been fooled as to Belgium being a country. I shall stay in Britain and the US from now on.

I think that I will be wary eating crustacia in the future.

Constantine, you say you are from Godless Britain, in which case surely you KNOW that Belgium is an imaginary country? All Brits know this. How do we know it? Well, because we have no pejorative name for its people.

Think about it for a moment: we have Frogs, Krauts, Cloggies, Eyeties, Pork-n-Cheese and filthy stinking Scandiwegian b*st*rds, but what would you say if for some reason you wanted to mention a "Belgian"? That's a sure sign that they are imaginary. The place was invented by Agatha Christie as a home for Poirot and is now just place that Europeon politicians put on their expenses claims.

Were some of the signs in French and some in Dutch? If so then you have been on the Froggie/Cloggie border.

Their joke food is also imaginary - never mind the mussels, but French fries with mayonnaise?

          Don't get fooled again, Brother.

Thank you Attila's Wife - you make a strong point. I cannot think of any British word to describe Belgium. It must be made up. Most of the signs were Dutch so one would assume it was in Holland. Plus they had lots of beer that everyone knows that the French are allergic to as they drink insipid wine.

Once we have kicked out all the foreigners in Britain (the Irish, Indians, Germans, Normans, Vikings and Romans) we will need to invade them.
