My o so young and missinformed friends. If your going to call your self part of a group at least have the decency to understand where that groups roots are grown from. As a young man(ok so maybe not so young anymore) who was alive when the "goth" movement came into being I suppose I should enlighten you as to what you actually belong to. Firstly you were born in the early 80's yes thats right it wasn't the day you first put on your makeup. You were given your name in an article first published in the UK rock weekly titled "The face of Punk Gothique" yes thats right PUNK. You are a subculture to punk. Punk is essentially your daddy. You were inspired by the likes of Siouxsie and the Banshees, and Bauhaus. So in the end your name is nothing more then a label for a type of music. Next time my Mallgoth friend(if you don't know what it means get out of Hot Topic and go pick up a book about your own subculture) try researching the group you want to be a part of so when someone that dosen't belong to it asks you a question about it, you can answer it intelligently. and No I'm not against goths, and I'm not inherintly against the Landover, I'm mostly against ignorance. I'm also mostly for fair informed discussion as well.

So now that we have established that you are a subculture of Punk and are in fact not terribly informed about your "culture" would you like to try again? Perhaps we can discuss where the motivation for your clothing came from? or the reason your supposed to be all dark and brooding?

3-Wears excessive black eye makeup, lipstick or nailpolish.

6-Listens to gothic or any other anti-social genres of music.
7-Associates with other people that dress, act or speak
eccentrically.
8-Shows a declining interest in wholesome activities, such as: the
Bible, prayer, church or sports.(Trust me, these things have already died for me)
9-Shows an increasing interest in death, vampires, magic, the occult,
witchcraft or anything else that involves Satan.
12-Is suicidal and/or depressed.
14-Complains of boredom.
15-Sleeps too excessively or too little.
16-Is excessively awake during the night.
17-Dislikes sunlight or any other form of light.
18-Demands an unusual amount of privacy.

22-Disregards authority figures; teachers, priests, nuns and elders
are but a few examples of this.
25-Eats goth-related foods. Count Dracula cereal is an example of
this.(Just so you know, it's Count Chocula).
26-Drinks blood or expresses an interest in drinking blood.
27-Watches cable television or any other corrupted media sources.
28-Plays videos games that contains violence or are of a role-playing
nature.
29-Uses the internet excessively and frequently makes time for the
computer.
30-Makes Satanic symbols and/or violently shakes head to music.(Note: This is called headbanging).
32-Expresses an interest in sex.(This is normal, is it not?)

34. "Accidentally" falls on Coke bottle that was standing upright in the shower and has to be taken to the emergency room to have said object removed from rectum, but for some reason had to do number 33 prior to dialing 911.

I've been labeled as a a goth, and yet, I dont believe in the devil, I dont hate my life, I love it! I dont always wear black (all though it is a slimming color).

I can't understand, what's wrong being goth! i think most teenagers can answer "yes" to more than just 5 of these questions.

I have the heard the testimony of Soul Saved Goths who have gotten up in my church and repented of their sins. The lists of horrible things they have done; murder, torture, depraved sex acts is truly appalling. Now who do think I am going to believe; Some anonymous poster on the internets or someone I have to talk to in real life?
