You claim Goths are violent. Even the police in most states will tell you that they know their local Goth scene is not prone to violence.
Anyone who thinks that Goths do not wear colour, has obviously never been to a Goth club, festival, event, seen a Gothic Model, looked at a Gothic band,
or even looked at the website or FB page for any of these. The Goth subculture leads young people? How young are you talking about? Most Goth clubs
and events at 18 plus, very few people under the age of 25 can even distinguish Goths from Heavy Metal or just someone wearing black. A lot of people wear rock t-shirts, unless the band is actually Gothic, what does this have to do with telling if someone is Goth/into the Goth scene? Not all Goths wear "excessive black make up." I'm not sure why you'd even single out people for wearing a specific colour make-up, I thought to use of make-up at all was considered to be a sin?

Wearing silver jewelry is a sin? What if you are allergic to gold or costume jewelry? Are you simply supposed to wear it and suffer? The reversed cross was originally as Catholic symbol, though it is often used by Satanists, which is not the same thing as a Goth. A lot of Goths wear right side up crosses. A pentagram is a symbol of religion, not a symbol of Gothicness. It is only called a pentacle, by people who aren't ignorant (this includes "praticing witches" as many of them are ignorant), if it is being used in a ritual. Otherwise, it is simply a pentagram. You can't really wear a pentacle.

An ankh is ancient Egyptian. It is also the symbol used by the vampire religion. It has nothing to do with Satan or Satamism. I know more people who are not Goth who are into piercings and tattoos than who are. Many people also have Christian oriented tattoos or wear cross earrings. Personally, I find both to be self mutilation, and I don't see the point. Marilyn Manson is Industrial/Shock Rock not Goth. If you can't tell the difference between that and Goth Rock bands like Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, Dead Souls Rising, Red Sun Revival, Fields of the Nephilim, Dryland, Solemn Novena, Funhouse, Rhombus, The 69 Eyes, Operanoire, Neon Dream, The Southern Death Cult, The Merry Thoughts, Siouxsie and the Banshees, etc., Gothic Metal bands like early Theatre of Tragedy, Type O Negative, Tristania, Moonspell, Silent Resentment, Paradise Lost, Amatris, The Sins of Thy Beloved, Solemnus, Howling Syn, Via Mistica, Galadriel, My Dying Bride, etc., or Gothic Ambient bands like Grabesmonde, Nox Arcana, Encryption, Midnight Syndicate, Verne Langdon, etc., than you are obviously tone deaf.

Considering that music is used to draw people together, and most of these bands play live, or are played in clubs where people come together, I'm not sure how you could call it anti-social. It's quite the opposite. And in the next breath, you say that we "associate with other people that dress eccentrically." That is not an act of anti-socialism. All people converse and hang out with people who have similar interests to them. You "Christians" claim to avoid people like us, and only want to be around "true Christians", so if we are being anti-social by only hanging with people who share our interests than you are being anti-social by doing the same.

In case you haven't realized this, Christianity is not the only religion that has prayer or bibles. Technically speaking, belly dancing could be considered a "sport" and a lot of Goths are actually into yoga and other things. What exactly is your concern with vampires or anything like that? A lot of horror films about vampires, at least the older ones that most real Goths are into, show good defeating evil. Priests defeating evil with prayer from the bible. Why would you think that is a bad thing? Witchcraft does not necessarily involve Satan.

Most Goths are against drugs, and most Goths only drink socially. With the exception of the local Bacchus cult. Depression is an illness, or is caused by probems within your life, it has nothing to do with being Goth. My former roommate was on anti-psychotics and anti-depressants. She was not Goth, and the happiest I have ever seen her was when she agreed to go to a Goth club for my birthday and realized how much fun it was. I honestly believe part of the reason she needed anti-depressants, was because of how controlling her boyfriend was and how he thought women should behave. Too much bible for him, maybe? Without the constraints religion, society, and men put on her, she would have been much happier and unlikely to be depressed and need medication for it. I myself have never needed medication for anything except asthma.

Self-mutilation is caused by depression, or it is a cry for attention. It is not necessarily done because of "satanic rituals." And the most any Pagan would do is prick their finger with a needle for a blood sacrifice, but that has nothing to do with being Goth. And it's a lot more reasonable and healthy than say...the flatulents. Most teenagers complain of boredom. I wonder how many "true Christian" teens are bored with all this "only read the bible" constraints?

You obviously have not read Dracula, because he could walk in sunlight. Also, the sun causes skin cancer and premature aging. Anyone with sense would limit their exposure (without protection) to the sun. You don't want us to spend time alone, but you don't want us to spend time with people we'd actually get along with? You must WANT people to get into fights and be violent...

Why are you implying that people should not disregard the authority of nuns? I thought nuns were only a Catholic thing...

I thought vampires simply needed blood to survive? When did it have anything to do with "attaining Satan?" Drinking blood is only dangerous if you drink more than a pint of blood at one time, or you have a cut or wound of some kind on or in your mouth.

So is the Bible mini series that premiered on the history channel (oh no! cable) something that should not be watched? Anything on the history channel or about history is bad I suppose, since that is cable? And video games often teach mathematics and spelling. Neither of these things can actually cause mental illness, or corrupt a child, who has been properly educated on right and wrong by someone of authority. Cable t.v. or video games will not cause someone who is not already mentally ill, or too young to know better, to do something illegal or violent. My child watches Christian shows almost as much as he watches Disney or Batman. His father does LARPing, and he will be making him some foam swords soon, and I really don't care what you make of that.

You are complaining about computers, but yet this website is on a computer and all of you are frequently posting on this website. Most schools have kids use computers now, since knowing how to use a computer well is something you need to know to get a decent job. Or do you expect everyone to work at Macdonalds? Headbanging is a Metalhead thing; it has nothing to do with Goth. The only metal that is Goth is Gothic Metal and Funeral Doom, neither of which you would (or even usually could) headbang too. It's not fast enough.

What is sexually provocative is in the eye of the beholder. It's a matter of opinion. And yes, how dare anyone express an interest in sex. I'm not really sure how that would make one Goth, but of course it is evil. I keep forgetting how Christians are only supposed to have sex with their husbands only, for procreation, and never enjoy it. Which makes little sense considering the church also taught that a woman could not actually conceive unless she orgasmed.

What does being homosexual or bi have to do with being Goth? And only teenage poseurs do anything that would be considered running around constantly proclaiming their Gothness.

My theory, for what it's worth, is that there are only about 3 or 4 of them and they are what I think is called internet trollops. at autocorrect there! I shall let it stand.

A couple of them come from the now submerged North-West of England and pretend to be in ordinary school instead of community homes. While they are on here, at least they are not climbing out and stealing anything that isn't nailed down. A couple come from Scotland, where there is nothing worth stealing, and you just have to feel sorry for them.

I think they are working shifts as they seem to be here all day and all night. Still, at least they are learning cooperative behavior.

I know this is a little bit off topic, but has anyone else noticed how the thread (and others about Goth EMO grindcore and similar rubbish let's face it they've only got one song between them and it sounds like malfunctioning agricultural equipment) seems to attract weirdos?

And not just any old weirdo, some of whom are vaguely diverting on the odd occasion, but a particularly whining subset claiming that [INSERT DEMONIC CHAMBER ENSEMBLE] "saved my life" or "I used to chopbits off until [INSERT DEMONIC CHAMBER ENSEMBLE] rescued me" in exactly the way fans of every other musical genre never do?
